'Adventure Time' fans have a brand new Netflix animated series arriving on the streaming site later this month. The new animated series from the creator of Cartoon Network's Adventure Time Pendleton Ward, and Duncan Trussell titled 'The Midnight Gospel' follows the adventures of Clancy, a spacecaster and his journey across worlds and universes.

The series gives off a very 'Rick and Morty' vibe but operates on another level. The visuals seem wondrous almost as if one is on a perpetual acid trip. Here is everything you need to know about the series.

Release date

'The Midnight Gospel' premieres on Netflix on April 20, 2020.

Plot

According to the official synopsis of the series, "'The Midnight Gospel' is the story of Clancy, a spacecaster with a malfunctioning multiverse simulator who leaves the comfort of his extra-dimensional home on the Chromatic Ribbon to interview beings living in other worlds."

Cast

Creator Duncan Trussell stars in the series alongside Phil Hendrie and Drew Pinsky. Information about the characters they play is not available.

Creators

The animated series is created by Pendleton Ward (of 'Adventure Time' fame) and Duncan Trussell (of 'Duncan Trussell Family Hour' podcast) and animated by Titmouse.

Creator Pendleton Ward of the television show "Adventure Time" speaks during The Paley Center For Media's "PaleyFest Family 2011" on August 14, 2011, in Beverly Hills, California.

Trailers

You can watch the trailer below:

In the first trailer for the adventure animated series, a space caster traverses trippy worlds inside his universe simulator, exploring existential questions about life, death and everything in between. The vividly colorful trailer takes us across worlds and universes. At first, the trailer gives the impression that the series is for children, but it really is not.

Perhaps the main character of the series describes it best: "There are beautiful wondrous worlds full of intelligent beings with stories to tell. And I'm going to interview them, put my interviews online, and make a bunch of money so suck my dick."

The first trailer of the series has us reminiscing 'Rick and Morty'. Fans have been patiently waiting for a new season worth four episodes since 'Rattlestar Ricklactica' last aired on December 15.

Earlier this month, a 15-second teaser clip on the show's official Twitter account had fans excited, but there's still no official word on when it will return.
