Spoiler alert

The eighth episode season finale of 'The Mandalorian' had a lot of new revelations and twists. For starters, the Mandalorian's helmet was removed for a life-saving medicine to be applied and we finally got to see Pedro Pascal's face.

The Mandalorian's name was revealed to be Din Djarin, an orphan, who was saved from droids by Mandalorians. Yet, the twist that no one saw coming was Moff Gideon standing among the ruins of his TIE fighter with a Darksaber in his hand.

The weapon was first shown in the 2010 episode of 'Clone Wars' and was said to be unique among lightsabers. This episode has left fans reeling and they took to social media to express their views on this climactic finale.

One fan wrote, "Holy shit! The darksaber is back!!! And on live action #TheMandalorian." Another viewer tweeted, "#TheMandalorian #Spoiler I’m really happy about the Dark Saber being at the end."

"Cant believe we got a live action darksaber #TheMandalorian," tweeted another excited fan.

With this cliffhanger, fans are even more excited for season 2. "The season finale was amazing and with the ending teasing the darksaber makes season 2 look even better. Also was it just me or was that deathwatch symbols I saw on the pauldrons of the mando's who saves the mando during the clone wars flashback," exulted one fan.

"Chapter 8 was filled with easter eggs but that ending with Moff Gideon surviving that crash and pulls out the DARKSABER HAS ME HYPED," wrote another fan.

They also have to come to terms with the fact that the show will return with its second season, only after a year.

"So you are telling my this Yoda species is gonna be trained to become a Mandalorian? Your telling me there’s more space adventures while they search out more of Yodas species? Your telling me there is a darksaber... how am i gonna wait another year for the Mandalorian?" tweeted one disgruntled fan.

One fan wrote that the Darksaber was the best thing in 'Clone Wars'.

"Chapter 8 of #TheMandalorian was better than I could've imagined. Excited to see the show delve even further into Mandalorian lore in the next season. --MILD SPOILER-- The darksaber was always the coolest thing about the Mandalorians in the Clone Wars. Happy to see it back," they wrote.

What will the second season bring?
