In 'The Hijacking of Flight 601' Episode 6, the remaining passengers and crew are safely evacuated from the plane following a tense standoff with the hijackers.

Flight attendant Edilma Perez (Monica Lopera) helps the hijackers find a way to evade jail time since they did not kill anyone.

She devises a plan to help the hijackers, believing they are not inherently bad people. In a surprising turn of events, Edilma advises Captain Richard Wilches against returning to Bogotá, Colombia, to protect the hijackers and prevent potential dangers or consequences linked to the hijacking.

If Edilma and her friend were to go to Bogotá, they could potentially face serious charges related to aiding and abetting terrorists. However, Edilma is convinced that the two men are not terrorists.

She prevents Richard from flying to Bogotá and directs his friend to take control of the plane. After helping the hijackers leave the plane, they return to Bogotá, where the media awaits to cover the safe return of the passengers to their homes.

Under pressure from authorities, Edilma is coerced into revealing potential locations where the two hijackers may have been dropped off.

Later, in a surprising turn of events, Richard returns and is honored with a medal for his bravery. This development suggests that the authorities may have successfully located the hijackers, bringing closure to the ordeal.

In the end, Edilma is seen returning to her work at Aerobolivar. The experience of the hijacking profoundly impacts her perspective on life.

She realizes that life can be unpredictable and fragile, prompting her to prioritize spending more quality time with her children.

In the last scene, it is revealed that she never received a raise at Aerobolivar. Despite three years of service, she was ultimately fired from her position.

Barbara (Angela Cano), Edilma's close friend and fellow flight attendant, also decided to leave the aviation industry. Despite this, Edilma and Barbara maintained their friendship.

It is also revealed that one of the hijackers, believed to be Toro (Alian Devetac), was arrested following the hijacking but died later on.

In the closing credits, a mention is made that another hijacker may still be alive.
