The filming of 'The Hijacking of Flight 601' extensively took place in Bogotá, Colombia, showcasing the city's diverse landscapes.

Given that 'The Hijacking of Flight 601' depicts the true story of the takeover incident in Colombia on May 30, 1973, it was essential for the filming to take place in Colombia to accurately capture the events and the local atmosphere.

On May 30, 1973, the airplane was operating a service from Cali to Bogotá, with an en-route stop at Pereira. The hijacking occurred approximately twenty minutes after takeoff from Pereira.

Filming in Bogotá allowed the makers to recreate the historical setting with authenticity, using real locations to bring the story to life.

Moreover, filming in Bogotá also provided an opportunity to showcase the city's rich culture, stunning landscapes, and vibrant streets.

Cali, a Colombian city in the Valle del Cauca department, southwest of Bogotá, is surrounded by lush green hills and mountains.

Cali boasts a diverse architectural landscape, blending colonial-era buildings, modern skyscrapers, and traditional neighborhoods, all of which helped bring authenticity to the series.
