Landon had admitted his feelings for Charles last season, but is that the only reason he's working on winning back his trust?

The Landon and Charles storyline on Tyler Perry's OWN soap opera, 'The Haves and the Have Nots' has been messy and complicated as ever. With Charles Frederickson (Nick Sagar) being Candace Young's (Tika Sumpter) ex and Landon Thompson (Kristian Kordula) being Jeffrey's (Gavin Houston), the whole Harrington-Young tension drifts in. It looks like Landon is finally caving in to his feelings for Charles or so suggests the synopsis for the upcoming Episode 18 of Season 7. But is that it or does Landon have an ulterior motive trying to get through to Charles?

Landon, although he barely gets any screentime, was last seen tailing Candace. Few episodes earlier, when Candace and her brother Benny Young (Tyler Lepley) were trying to get their mother Hanna to a safe place and themselves ended up having to stay the night at a hotel, Candace had learned from Mitch Malone (Brett Davis) that Landon was having her followed. Although for reasons unknown, this can never be a good thing for Candace. But what's curious is the common link connecting Candace and Landon - Charles.

Charles Fredrickson was Candace's partner at one point in time. Despite knowing her con-jobs and the many rings she has run in her infamous character arc so far, Charles fell in love with the Young heiress and has been, even though she had mostly used him for his money, power and connections. Eventually, Landon also falls for Charles, developing romantic interest for the president-elect and all of it turns pretty much haywire. Charles explains he is straight and turns down Landon, but looks like the latter won't accept defeat that easily.

Landon trying to win over Charles's trust could definitely have to do much with the romantic interest he harbors for the man. Or it could just be about getting to Candace knowing Charles's weakness for the woman. The Landon and Candace blow up is waiting to happen, with the two butting heads any time now. But there's also no forgetting how Charles had humiliated Candace in front of the public, on live television after learning of her past for the first time, so whether he will have the same effect on her anymore is a guess as good as anybody else's.

'The Haves and the Have Nots' Season 7 airs on Tuesdays, at 8/9c only on OWN.
