'The Handmaid's Tale' Season 5 on Hulu: Fans unimpressed with new series, wonder 'why show is still running'
'The Handmaid's Tale' is loved for its interesting storyline that revolves around some of the most heinous unspoken truths of society. Based on the 1985 novel of the same name by Canadian author Margaret Atwood, the show's first season comprising 10 episodes, kicked off in 2016. While 'The Handmaid's Tale' Season 5 has been garnering positive reviews from a large section of viewers, there are a few who completely despised it from the very first season.
The first season 'The Handmaid's Tale' won eight Primetime Emmy Awards from 13 nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series. It is the first show produced by Hulu to win a major award as well as the first series on a streaming service to win an Emmy for Outstanding Series. It also won the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Drama. Elisabeth Moss was also awarded the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series and the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Drama Series.

With so many reputed awards, people are expected to not hate it, however, that was not the case with the fifth season. After season 5 dropped, the series failed to gain love from all viewers.

Meanwhile, 'The Handmaid's Tale' Season 5 Episode 1 and 2 dropped on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, on Hulu. It will be followed by weekly episodes every Wednesdays.
