'The Gray Man' on Netflix: 5 things to know about action-thriller starring Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans

Joe and Anthony Russo took the world by storm with 'Avengers: Endgame' and now they are set to take viewers on another thrilling journey with their upcoming action thriller 'The Gray Man' starring Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans in pivotal roles. If you are already excited about the movie, then the names of the remaining cast members are surely gonna made you go wild. 

Based on the 'Gray Man' book series by Mark Greaney, the movie revolves around the CIA's most skilled mercenary named Court Gentry (Ryan Gosling). He was one of the most feared men on the planet and was known as the Agency-sanctioned merchant of death. However, everything has changed now and he has become the target this time. Who is after him? and why does he want him? We will get to know the answer when the movie arrives on Netflix.

This will be Joe and Anthony Russo's second feature film with Netflix after 'Extraction'. However, they only produced the Chris Hemsworth-starrer, but this time they don the director's hat as well.

When does 'The Gray Man' release and where can you watch it

The upcoming action thriller will be making its way to Netflix on Friday, July 22, and will be available for streaming at 3:01 am EST. Viewers can download the Netflix app from Google's Play Store and Apple's App Store to watch the movie.

Plot

The official synopsis reads, "The Gray Man is CIA operative Court Gentry (Ryan Gosling), aka, Sierra Six. Plucked from a federal penitentiary and recruited by his handler, Donald Fitzroy (Billy Bob Thornton), Gentry was once a highly-skilled, Agency-sanctioned merchant of death. But now the tables have turned and Six is the target, hunted across the globe by Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans), a former cohort at the CIA, who will stop at nothing to take him out. Agent Dani Miranda (Ana de Armas) has his back. He'll need it." 

Cast

The movie is stacked with extraordinary actors. Ryan Gosling plays the role of Court Gentry while Chris Evans will be seen playing the character of Lloyd Hansen. On the other hand, Ana de Arms portrays Dani Miranda.

The actor is known for critically-acclaimed films like 'The Big Short' (2015), romantic musical 'La La Land' (2016), for which he won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor, 'Blade Runner 2049' (2017) and 'First Man' (2018).

Fresh off his success of 'Defending Jacob' the hit Apple TV+ series by Mark Bomback, the actor is all set to work again with the Russos in the upcoming project. The actor is best known for playing Steve Rogers/ Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His list of accomplished works includes: 'Scott Pilgrim vs. the World', 'Gifted' and 'Knives Out'.

Other actors to feature in the movie include Billy Bob Thornton (Donald Fitzroy), Jessica Henwick, Dhanush, Rege-Jean Page (Carmichael), and Julia Buttler (Claie Fitzroy).
