LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: There is something thrilling about movies that are based on true stories. It not only arouses curiosity but also makes us dive deeper into the real story behind the movie adaptation. Lifetime is partnering once again with Elizabeth Smart, better known as Elizabeth Ann Gilmour, an American child safety activist and commentator for ABC News, for a thrilling ride.

As someone who survived a kidnapping herself, Smart collaborated with Lifetime back in 2018 on a film 'I Am Elizabeth Smart', and hosted the doc specials 'Elizabeth Smart: Finding Justice' and 'Smart Justice: The Jayme Closs Case', which had Smart leading a roundtable discussion with other known victims of abduction including Kara Robinson. Now Lifetime is back with taking true crime stories and giving a theatrical twist to it with 'The Girl Who Escaped: The Kara Robinson Story'. The movie narrates the true story of Robinson, who was abducted from her friend's front yard back in 2002, but survived the abduction and helped law-enforcement in catching an infamous serial killer.
