'The Conners' Season 2: Darlene's love dilemma, Becky's preemie and everything you can expect when the ABC show returns

From the title of the very first episode, 'Preemies, Weed and Infidelity' we can expect three major storylines to be addressed right away

A year after its premiere sans Roseanne Barr, ABC's 'The Conners' will be back with season two and a whole new set of problems and challenges for the family that they will tackle in their unique, hilarious style. Season one had left us with quite a few cliffhangers, but hopefully, most of them will be tackled on Tuesday, September 24, when episode one titled 'Preemies, Weed, and Infidelity' premieres.

From the title of the very first episode we can expect three major storylines to be addressed right away:

Darlene's Infidelity

When season one ended, Darlene (Sara Gilbert) was posed with an impossible choice – either stay with the man she believed to be her soul mate for most of her life or move to another city for a man who challenges her to be better.

The part about infidelity in the first episode's title most possibly targets her, and as we have seen in many sitcoms before this, we know a love triangle is coming our way.

There are shippers for both love stories. While many believe that getting back together with David (Johhny Galecki) would be best for her family and children, prioritizing a future with Ben (Jay R. Ferguson) would allow her to leave the past where it belongs and move on in life. Our best guess is she doesn't make the choice, and secretly dates both of them.

Becky's Preemie

The last we saw of her, Becky (Lecy Goranson) was pregnant and while Emilio's (Rene Rosado) fate remains unknown, it is almost certain that the eldest Connor sibling will give birth prematurely.

It is certainly going to be a tough situation for her, seeing as the father of her child is most probably not in the picture, and she is not very experienced with children in the first place. Hopefully, her younger sister who promised to help her out will choose to stay back and not move to Chicago with Ben.

Weed

This is the tough part of the title to decipher because weed could be associated with anyone in the Conner household, but if it were to be controversial enough to make it to the title, it has to definitely have something to do with the children.

Our guess is that either Harris (Emma Kenney) or Mark (Ames McNamara), get busted smoking weed – possibly Harris – and get grounded for the same.

Make sure to watch season two episode one of 'The Conners' when it premieres on ABC on September 24.
