LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Bachelorette' star Clare Crawley isn't holding anything back when it comes to her drama with Nick Viall and his wife Natalie Joy.

On Wednesday, May 8, the reality TV responded to criticism on her Instagram page by uploading a screenshot of a conversation with a fan. In her message, she subtly clapped back at the pair who claimed she was "too difficult to work with."

"The convos around women, especially former Bachelorettes, being ‘too’ much of anything are a lot. Too emotional, too difficult, too indecisive, etc. Nick making money of making it hard for women to not get people in their comments," she wrote on her Instagram Story.

In a separate Instagram Story, Clare replied to a fan regarding her drama with Nick and Natalie and shared, "Tale as old as time. If standing up for yourself, having boundaries, and not letting people take advantage of you is considered being difficult … then I don’t know what to say lol."

"I can only pray these people raise a child that is capable of being difficult for others in order to stay true to themselves," Clare concluded. For those who may be unaware, Nick and Natalie welcomed a baby girl named River in February 2024.

Nick Viall and Natalie Joy brought up Clare Crawley’s name while talking about ‘The Bachelor’ star Maria Georgas

The drama between Clare and the couple began on May 7 when Nick and Natalie mentioned Clare's name during an episode of the 'Viall Files' podcast, where they discussed Maria Georgas' stint on 'The Bachelor' Season 28.

“I also heard from some friends of ours who are close to the source that filming with [Maria] was close to filming with Clare Crawley,” Natalie said.  Nick also commented on Clare, stating that she "famously the only Bachelorette who quit a week into filming, which kind of tracks, I mean, Maria quit even before filming started.”

Following the episode's airing, Clare posted a quote on her Instagram Story that appeared to be a response to Nick and Natalie's claim.

The message read, "To the women perceived as ‘aggressive,’ continue to be assertive. To the women perceived as ‘bossy,’ continue leading. To the women perceived as ‘too much,’ continue taking up space. To the women perceived as ‘awkward,’ continue to ask hard questions. To the women: be yourself."

Why did Clare Crawley leave ‘The Bachelorette’ Season 16?

In 2020, Clare unexpectedly left "The Bachelorette" Season 16 after Dale Moss proposed to her. During the proposal, Moss told Clare, "The best is yet to come. I'm not going anywhere and I want to make you happy each and every day."

At the time, Clare became the first Bachelorette to find love so quickly on the popular ABC dating show. Then, while having a chat with host Chris Harrison, Clare shared her heartfelt feelings about Moss and said, "He meets me on the level emotionally of what I'm looking for. Everything I want out of a relationship, everything I want out of life."

Are ‘The Bachelorette’ stars Clare Crawley and Dale Moss still together?

‘The Bachelorette’ stars Clare Crawley and Dale Moss are no longer in a relationship. The pair pulled the plug on their romance in 2021 for good.

Talking of their breakup, Clare said, "It's painful when you feel like somebody who you love deeply doesn't even have enough respect to take you to sit down and have a very vulnerable conversation and owning your stuff on both sides." "It's hurtful because it's like, 'You think that little of me?' But yet he supposedly loved me … Maybe that is the closure," she added.

Clare Crawley has moved on from her relationship with Dale Moss and is now happily married to her partner, Ryan Dawkins. The couple welcomed their first child together, daughter Rowan, via a surrogate in January 2024.
