'The Bachelorette' 2022: Fans sense Rachel's fear of rejection as she goes on another 'boring' date with Zach

As hometown approaches, fans question Rachel's choice of going on a second one-on-one date with Zach

AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS: Hometown dates are on the horizon as Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey continue their search for love on 'The Bachelorette.' Fans, on the other hand, criticize Rachel for going on a one-on-one date with Zach after their dreary first date.

As the promotional consideration sponsored by Valiant Lady arrives at the port in Amsterdam, it's all flowers, canals, and bicycles. Rachel is pleased with her "journey," but she is also concerned about the upcoming hometown dates. Tino is extremely upset by Rachel's first one-on-one date with Zach. "You can't help when you don't get, like, the date card to be, like, 'What the f---?'" Tino adds, who is especially irritated because Zach has already had a one-on-one.

Our bachelorette feels young and in love with her date in a tulip field. Zach and Rachel go around the flower rows, plucking tulips, taking Polaroid photos, and kissing. Then it's off on a bike ride through the lovely countryside, where merchants have stationed locals to demonstrate traditional Dutch items like cheese, wooden shoes, and... toddlers selling lemonades.

Zach and Rachel meet for dinner in a beautiful cathedral-museum site, and they can't stop talking about how amazing their "bucket list" day was. But Zach understands that if he wants to obtain that ticket to the hometown dates, he needs to Open Up quickly. So he tells a story about his most recent breakup when things "took a turn" in his life and he "wasn't okay." Zach claims that he was overweight and miserable a few years ago. It made him realize that if he couldn't love himself, he'd be closed to accepting love from others. Zach, on the other hand, was able to get through this difficult period thanks to treatment. Rachel adores it. "I feel like [therapy] really helps you get to the bottom of everything," she adds. "After coming off of Clayton's season, going to therapy was my favorite part of the week… I truly love it so much."

Cheers to therapy! Everyone should give it a go! Anyway, Rachel and Zach appear to be quite into each other. He quickly told her that he is "falling in love" with her! And she can't stop smiling. They kiss some more before Rachel hands Zach the date rose. "After tonight," he says, engagement feels and seems like a very real possibility."

Even though Rachel and Zach are both enamored with one other, fans believe they lack overall chemistry. A fan wrote how Rachel's fear of rejection might have led her to make her choose Zach for her one-on-one: "#TheBachelorettes Rachel ….he’s lame and you’re just tired of being rejected …wake up girl." Fans also questioned Rachel's decision of choosing the same guy for one-on-one given many guys have yet to get that time with Rachel: "me trying to figure out why Rachel gave the one on one to Zach who had one two episodes ago instead of Tyler #thebachelorette." Another viewer quipped how Zach gives off Disney villain vibes: "Zach has done absolutely nothing wrong…. However, I’m getting Disney Villain vibes & I can’t explain it #TheBachelorette." Speaking of how boring their date was, a fan wrote: "Rachel really went on a solo date with Zach the most boring mf in the line up but they both boring so I guess it's only right #TheBachelorette."

Seeing Zach confess his feelings for Rachel after their second date, a fan wrote: "Zach: she still gives me butterflies Everyone: ya no s**t it has been maybe a month absolute tops #thebachelorette." Reminding the timeline of their relationship, fans ask Zach to slow down: "Wow, I can’t believe after six weeks of kinda dating and two actual dates Rachel *still* gives Zach butterflies. Don’t go too far off the deep end there, Zach! #TheBachelorette."

Fans failing to see Zach emote properly on screen tweeted: "Zach seems like a robot created by lonely horny straight women #TheBachelorette." Comparing Zach to Tino, a viewer wrote: "Zach is the very definition of a runner up guy on this show. “Stand up guy”, “so sweet”, but will end up in second place because the “spark” isn’t there like it is with another guy (Tino). #TheBachelorette." Another fan tweeted how they don't trust Zach yet: "YES!!!! everybody is obsessed with zach but I do not trust him #TheBachelorette." Calling Zach a store mannequin, a fan wrote: "Zach is a store mannequin that came to life in a Christmas movie after a lonely woman said “why can’t I find a man like you” to him while she was holiday shopping after finding her bf cheating with a mall elf. Prove me wrong. #TheBachelorette."
