Making a lasting impression is key when it comes to group dates on 'The Bachelor'. But often, the contestants get so caught up in the challenge itself, that they forget that the object of their affection is right there -- in this case, it is Clayton Echard.

On Season 26's first group date, the ladies had to organize a kid's birthday party under the watchful eye of singer and 'The Bachelor' fan Hillary Duff. While all the ladies were starstruck, they still had a task at hand. And while Serene, Genevieve, Gabby and other women worked hard at their date, Cassidy really made her mark.

The first group date challenge saw the ladies put together a birthday party. With a guest appearance made by Duff, the women were all set to prove themselves, save for Cassidy. Unfortunately, Cassidy cared little about her tasks and was preoccupied with taking Clayton aside and making out with him. The other women were visibly upset and to make matters worse, Cassidy also dropped the cake. Fans called her out on her behavior.

"Cassidy when she dropped the cake: #TheBachelor" tweeted a fan. "Omfg not Lizzie McGuire calling Cassidy all the way the fuck out omg #TheBachelor #Bachelor" added another. "Cassidy is just annoying at this point #TheBachelor" wrote a fan. "Why is she telling the kids that she doesn't like kids….. at a kids birthday party for her literal idol…. #TheBachelor #TheBachelorABC" noted another. "You know Cassidy watched that fort building episode from Queen Michelle's season and was like, "Ooh, buddy, I really missed the point of that kid date!" #TheBachelor #thebacheloretteabc" added another. "Cassidy is straight-up acting like Meredith Blake from The Parent Trap w these kids #TheBachelor #Bachelor" tweeted a fan.

However, a few fans certainly appreciated Cassidy's honesty to do what she wanted among these bizarre dates. "Cassidy is ICONIC. She doesn't care about the kids, she only wants to talk to Hillary Duff, she destroyed the cake, and she got 100% of Clayton's attention without having to participate in his creepy motherhood audition #TheBachelor" tweeted a fan. "Honestly, if I was Cassidy I would rather hang out with Hillary Duff than Clayton too. #TheBachelor" added another.

The issue spiralled later when all the ladies sat down for the second half of the date, where Cassidy declared that she would be getting the group date rose. When the girls pointed out that Cassidy did nothing throughout the day, she stated that she would not apologize, seeing that her concern was not hosting a kid's birthday, but building a relationship with Clayton. The tension in the room was evident, and it didn't help that Clayton ended up giving the group date rose to Cassidy. The other women were clearly upset about it, but Cassidy's strategy seems to be working for her!
