'I don't buy that': ‘The Bachelor’ alum Ashley Ianconetti calls Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist's split 'baffling'
NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND: Ashley Iaconetti, a former contestant on 'The Bachelor' and 'Bachelor in Paradise,' made a subtle jab at the recent decision of 'Golden Bachelor' stars Theresa Nist and Gerry Turner to split just three months after tying the knot.
When asked for her opinion on the short-lived marriage, considering her journey as a Bachelor alum who found love and got married on the show, Ashley candidly shared her opinion, describing their decision to split as "bullsh**."
Ashley found the reason for Theresa and Gerry's split baffling, stating that their inability to decide on where to live didn't sit well with her. She expressed the belief that a couple truly in love would be willing to commute or find other ways to keep their relationship alive, regardless of the challenges posed by distance or differing living preferences.
"I think a a lot of what they said in GMA interview was 'BS' because you just dint say we still love each other and get divorced. You just don't," she said. "If it's a distance thing, at their age, live in Indiana, live in New Jersey. Visit each other once or twice a month. Be in love with each other, be married, just commute," she continued. " I don't buy that moving thing is the reason why they decided to split in three months after their marriage," she added.
Ashley also mentioned that she had always sensed something missing in the Golden Bachelor couple's relationship. Having been invited to their wedding, she believed she had gained some insight into their dynamic and noticed elements that appeared lacking or incomplete.

During their emotional interview on Friday, April 12, Turner disclosed that he and Nist had engaged in numerous heartfelt conversations about their relationship. They carefully examined their living arrangements and ultimately decided to end their marriage.
"We just feel like it’s best for the happiness of each of us to live apart," Turner expressed. "I still love this person. There’s no doubt in my mind," she added. Throughout the interview, they held hands and acknowledged that they were both still seeking love, although not with each other.
The reality TV personalities made an appearance on "Good Morning America," where they revealed their decision to divorce. They pointed to their disagreement over a place to live as the primary reason for their choice. Despite their efforts, they couldn't resolve this issue, leading to the conclusion that things weren't working out between them.

After the split, Theresa had to part ways with her $40,000 diamond ring. Reflecting on this, she mentioned, "I think that’s the rule, I think I have to give this ring back. Sad to say." Gerry added, "But, you know what, we don’t have to give back the memories."
