LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Acolyte' Episode 6 aired on Disney+ on July 2, 2024. The gripping episode explored the heels of a stunning revelation in Episode 5 where the masked Sith lord who was revealed as Qimir (Manny Jacinto) killed many Jedis leaving a trail of destruction before leaving with Osha (Amandla Stenberg).

Episode 6 saw Osha wake up on an unknown planet where she and Qimir had uncomfortable yet insightful conversations about Qimir's past revealing him to be a former Jedi who a Jedi Master threw out.

He discusses the force with Osha and asks her to try the Cortosis helmet that helps counter lightsabers and lets the force take over by making the other senses inactive. Here's a look at what the next episode could tell us about Qimir and the Jedi Master who threw him out.

In Episode 6, we see Qimir living on an unknown planet where he has taken Osha and healed her. He forges a relationship with Osha who points a lightsaber on him to threaten him. Osha resents Qimir but cannot counter the arguments he makes and doesn't kill him despite knowing that he was the one who killed so many Jedis.

Qimir reveals himself to be a former Jedi who was thrown out and tells Osha that she was thrown out despite Osha insisting that she had quit voluntarily. He talks about being thrown out for having emotions like anger and desire, the emotions that the Jedi think will lead to the dark side. He tells Osha that she was thrown out for the same reason.

There are a lot of pending questions about Qimir's past and how he became a Sith. Those questions are expected to be answered in Episode 7 as we might see how he became a Sith and landed on this unknown planet. The episode did give a hint about who his master could have been.

Is Master Vernestra the Jedi Master who stabbed Qimir in the back?

Master Vernastra (Rebecca Henderson) shows a glimpse of her lightsaber in Episode 6 and the lightsaber works like a whip and kills an umber moth in Khofar where she and her team are investigating the Jedi deaths. Interestingly Qimir's back has the same whip-like scar and when Osha asks him about the scar, he tells her that he was stabbed in the back by a Jedi Master.

Elsewhere, we see Master Vernastra inspecting the Jedi deaths and recognizing that the deaths have been committed by someone who wants to tip the scales. Coincidently, Qimir also talks about bringing a balance earlier in the episode. So it does seem that the origin of the dark side is linked to a relationship between Qimir and a Jedi Master who might be Master Vernastra.
