‘Ted Lasso’ Season 3 Episode 9 Preview: Ted tackles new challenges as Colin and Isaac’s friendship is tested
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Apple TV+’s most successful production, 'Ted Lasso' has entered into the final leg of its ultimate season. With only four more episodes left, the sunny and jolly American football coach is on the lookout to tie all the loose ends and see his team, AFC Richmond near the top of the Premier League if not, at the top. He has the support of the team owner, Rebecca Welton, Coach Beard, Roy Kent, the assistant coach, and all the players of the team who listen intently to his every word.
Up until the eighth episode, AFC Richmond has been on a see-saw. The team was cruising through the league on the backs of a charismatic forward, Zava, who eventually left after witnessing that Richmond can’t match his greatness. But they fell hard and recovered only in the eighth episodes courtesy of Ted’s new style of play, which was already prevalent in the Netherlands. The team equation has improved as Kent and star striker, Jamie, now get along well and train together. Keeley, who runs the PR firm and helps Richmond, suffered from a crucial blow at the end of the eighth episode when a private video of her leaked and Jack, her girlfriend, blamed her for this embarrassment. Meanwhile, Ted was in a fix trying to decode the true intention of her wife taking a trip to Paris with her current partner, Dr Jacob. Everything is still up in the air with no favorable conclusion to this tale, but looking at the equation of the next episode, we can surely expect a few fireworks.

What happens to Ted Lasso's AFC Richmond?
The official synopsis of the ninth episode of season three reads, “Colin and Isaac’s friendship is tested. Roy is asked to do a press conference.” During the eighth episode, Isaac, the team’s captain, asks everyone to delete all images and videos that they might have received from a data leak that could contain private photos of people. Surprisingly, Keeley’s video was also a part of this leak, which sparked a debate in the dressing room about the morality of sharing and keeping private photos. When Colin, who is closeted, is deleting the images on his phone, Isaac snatches it and sees a photo that could have told him that Colin is gay. Isaac gives him a look and returns the phone. No one knows about Colin’s sexual orientation except for Trent Crimm, the journalist writing a book on the club. After this encounter, it’s expected that there will be a huge confrontation in the dressing room between Colin and other players, which might escalate either way.
Ted will have to come in and play mediator once again with a few of his unusual anecdotes that can lighten the mood and bring the team back together as a brotherly unit. However, Ted’s demeanor towards Michelle would be an interesting watch. He’s surely on board to spend quality time with his son, but Michelle recently chose to spend time with Dr Jacob in Paris, leaving Ted worried. Ted will surely focus on the team’s performances, but knowing the character, it will be unusual not to see him go fighting for Michelle. The ultimate victory for Ted would be watching Richmond make the top four in the league, but the way it is now, it looks like the team will avoid relegation at the end of the series, making it a successful stint for Ted in England.
Keeley and Rebecca wrestle with love
Rebecca has been winging it so far when it comes to her love life. She had a small romantic encounter with a Dutchman in the seventh episode and seems to be in the mood for finding a partner for him. Keeley will have a decision to make in the ninth episode — to mend her relationship with Jack or end it once and for all.
