El Paso County Coroner confirms it's Suzanne
The remains were confirmed to be Suzanne Morphew's by the El Paso County Coroner on Wednesday, September 27, said the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office, reports Law&Crime.
“Agents with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) located human remains during the course of a search on September 22, 2023. Those remains were positively identified as Suzanne Morphew (49) of Chaffee County by the El Paso County Coroner on September 27, 2023,” the organization said via a press release.
The Sheriff's Office further added, “Morphew was reported missing from her home in Chaffee County on May 10, 2020. Specific information about the location and the state of the remains are being withheld at this time.”
The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office also revealed that no arrests have been made in the case as of now.

Suzanne Morphew's husband Barry was named 'person of interest' before charges were dropped
Her husband, Barry Morphew, 55, was charged with Suzanne’s murder in May 2021 but the judge let him go in 2022 after dismissing the charges without prejudice.
This meant the case could be reopened anytime in the future. In June, 11th Judicial Deputy District Attorney Mark Hulbert said in court that it "could be a long time" until investigators find Morphew.
"It could be quick, it could be long. It depends a lot on our investigation," he said. However, he added that investigators are convinced they know where the missing mother’s body may be located.
Suzanne Morphew had a troubled marriage and was having a two-year-long affair with her secret boyfriend, Jeff Libler.
The texts exchanged between the two lovers read, "The only real love I've known...the only love I want." "Goodnight. I'm thinking August and being wrapped up with each other… where we both belong," Suzanne wrote in another message.
