Suspected DC mass shooting sees 8 people shot in 2 locations by gunman traveling in black sedan car
WASHINGTON, DC: Reports of a mass shooting are coming from Washington, DC, where 8 people were shot at, including a 12-year-old girl. The two incidents, from Friday night, April 21, are linked. The Metropolitan Police Department informed that the distance between the two locations was about a half mile from one another. As per local media, seven adult male victims got hit and suffered injuries in the first shooting that occurred at the 500 block of Lebaum Street, SE, around 10 pm. Fortunately, most of the victims managed to get to nearby hospitals on their own.
In a second incident, a 12-year-old girl was spotted with a gunshot wound to her lower extremities. She will most likely survive the injury and is in stable condition. The medical evaluation of the victims revealed all the injuries were non-life-threatening. As per authorities, both shootings were linked and the search operation is underway. The witnesses have described a suspected black sedan car, most probably a Mercedes, that “drove through the block and indiscriminately fired upon.” on people at sight. No arrests have been made yet as the cops look out for suspects, according to ABC News.

'My cousin is in critical condition'
In an unrelated incident, a 34-year-old man was put behind the bars in connection with the mass shooting that left 4 people dead. The shooting occurred at a home in Bowdoin, Maine. Joseph Eaton is also accused of gunning down and injuring three others on an interstate nearby. "My cousin is in critical condition and my other cousin is stable. There is no connection between the victims. It was random that my family was shot at," Ian Halsey told the Portland Press Herald, who is a Bowdinham resident.
'Shocked and deeply saddened'
A witness to the interstate shooting stated, "We just saw a bunch of smoke. And my friend in the truck was like, 'I think that's gunpowder, like gunsmoke.'" Maine Gov. Janet Mills tweeted on the incident that she was "shocked and deeply saddened — acts of violence like we experienced today shake our state and our communities to the core," reports MEAWW.
