Popular Italian drama 'Summertime' is all set to return to streaming for a brand new season. The Netflix drop has had a good run for 2 seasons now, with Season 3 scheduled to premiere on May 5, 2022.

The Italian teen romance drama series first premiered in April 2020, inspired by the book 'Three Meters Above the Sky' by Federico Moccia. Set in the town of Cesenatico on the Adriatic coast, the plot revolves around an introverted 17-year-old, Summer, and her tumultuous love life. Even as a teenager, it seems like Summer bears the brunt of the whole world on her shoulders. However, she tries to stay motivated enough to make a difference for herself, step out of her comfort zone and be independent.

What is 'Summertime' all about?

The official synopsis reads: "A modern love story, set during a summer on the Adriatic coast. An undeniable attraction unites Ale and Summer, two people from very different worlds".

Who stars in the Netflix series?

Coco Rebecca Edogamhe as Summer

Rebecca Coco Edogamhe is popular in the Italian film industry, best known as the lead star in 'Summertime'. The up-and-coming actress has also tried her hand at modeling in editorial shoots for both Gucci and Liu Jo.

Born to a Nigerian father and an Apulian Italian mother, Coco was born in Lecce and grew up outside of Bologna. Her passion and flair for acting began in high school when she stepped out of her comfort zone to audition for film and TV roles - all without acting classes. What's more, Coco's role in 'Summertime' was her debut as well. When the series kickstarted in April 2020, it was only shortly before she graduated high school.

The rest of the cast includes Ludovico Tersigni as Alessandro Alba or Ale, Alice Ann Edogamhe as Blue Bennati, Amanda Campana as Sofia, Andrea Lattanzi as Dario, Giovanni Manni as Edo, Amparo Pinero as Lola, Stefano Fregni as Piero, Thony as Isabella, and Alberto Boubakar Malanchino as Antony Bennati.

The series is created by Mirko Cetrangolo and Anita Rivaroli.
