'Suits' season 9 episode 2 will see the return of an old friend, and someone is definitely getting fired

Despite the looming threat of disbarment, no one at Zane Specter Litt Wheeler Williams is willing to be someone else's puppets and everyone is ready to put up a fight

‘Suits’ season nine premiered with a remarkable episode one titled 'Everything’s Changed' on Wednesday, July 17, setting the stage for a spectacular final season of the beloved show. Allowing all Darvey fans to sigh in relief, the premiere proved that the kiss shared between Harvey (Gabriel Macht) and Donna (Sarah Rafferty) was not a dream and that after 11 years of will-they/wont-they, they are actually going all in.

Outside of their love cocoon, however, everything is falling apart, thanks to Robert Zane's (Wendell Pierce) disbarment. Despite how it looks to the outside world, the firm unanimously wants to respect Zane's legacy, because they know he took the fall for Harvey and Donna. However, the entire world is turning against them for not taking down Zane's name from their walls and time may be running out to change that decision.

At the end of episode one, we see a representative of the New York Bar threatening everyone at Zane Specter Litt Wheeler Williams. She intends to run things at the firm, lest everyone is okay going the way Zane went. Despite the looming threat of disbarment, no one at Zane Specter Litt Wheeler Williams is willing to be someone else's puppets and everyone is ready to put up a fight — one that may be harder to win than they had assumed.

In the promo for season nine episode two of 'Suits', we see that getting fired is a very real possibility for every single one of them. At one point we even hear the word "You are fired" come out of the Bar rep's mouth, as the door closes on Harvey. In this time of need, who do they turn to? Why, Mike (Patrick J Adams), of course.

If anyone knows how to bend the law, it's Mike, and he is definitely happy to make time for "an old friend". When Mike returns, however, the person he sees may not be the Harvey he knew.

"You've lost yourself, Harvey, and you know it," he can be heard saying in one of the clips, looking wildly disappointed in his mentor. Then again, what is a Harvey-Mike reunion without any conflict?

Season nine episode two of 'Suits' airs on Wednesday, July 24 on USA Network.
