Spoilers for 'Suburra: Blood on Rome' Season 3

The prequel to the 2015 Italian neo-noir film 'Suburra' was essayed in Netflix's three-season series titled 'Suburra: La Serie' or 'Suburra: Blood on Rome'. With the streaming platform just dropping the third and final season, fans and viewers will be left shocked and very, very stirred about how different the show ends from the movie's premiere. Samurai dies in the very first episode of the six-part Season 3, and that isn't the only surprise to indulge in as the series culminates. The final moments of the show sees Alberto "Spadino" Anacleti (Giacomo Ferrara) exact revenge on his older brother Manfredi (Adamo Dionisi), but even after the deadly shootout and explosions are done, he ends up leaving his wife Angelica (Carlotta Antonelli). Wondering what goes wrong? Buckle up, it's a bumpy ride.

After Manfredi deliberately causes Angelica's miscarriage, Spadino vows to kill him. But being on the hitlist of the Anacletis means he has no other support than the Adami; so Spadino reaches out to his father-in-law, Sale, for help seeking revenge. Sale organizes a meeting with Manfredi where they are supposed to ambush the older Anacleti, and advises Spadino to accomplish the task without Aureliano's (Alessandro Borghi) help. Spadino is swayed into the suggestion, and evidently, when he shows up at the designated spot, Manfredi and his men are there ready to kill him.

Luckily, back home when Angelica senses something off about Manfredi's men coming to pick her up, she lets Nadia (Federica Sabatini) and Aureliano know. The latter goes to Spadino's rescue, while Nadia helps Angelica escape from Manfredi's men before the two of them set off to help their men. All this time, Aureliano and Spadino are cornered and heavily outnumbered; a gunfight ensued with bullets raining down from every corner and the two men can't hold their forts any longer. So Aureliano takes the call and gets out of his hiding spot to shoot the Sintis and Sales. He kills most of them, but not before they fatally wound him in the chest. With fire and dead bodies strewn all around, Aureliano breathes his last hunched over Spadino's frame and the tragic moment is only signified by Spadino's still burning feelings for the man he has loved since the beginning.

But Spadino's vengeance is still active as he can hear Manfredi groan from a cabin at the deserted garage. He walks in and stabs the older Anacleti with the same knife he had harboured all these years as a gift from the brother he was murdering. Thus Spadino seeks revenge on both his and Angelica's lost baby, and his dearly beloved Aureliano before carrying his body to the ocean. When Nadia and Angelica arrive at the crime scene, seeing there's not a person left alive, they set off for the docks too. There they learn about Aureliano's death, but Spadino has unfinished business. He breaks ties with Angelica, sensing the danger and damage he brings to her life.

Earlier in the show Angelica had expressed grievances over the two of them never being a proper couple, and Spadino finally agrees its time to let go. Leaving the mourning party behind, Spadino cradles Aureliano's body in his arms, gently stroking the dead man's face, as he carried him into the depths of the water to submerge him with his dead sister, just the way Aureliano had wanted.

'Suburra: Blood on Rome' is now available for streaming, only on Netflix.
