LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Netflix's 'Stranger Things' is preparing for its ultimate run with its upcoming fifth season and fans can not wait till the series drops. The last time we saw the Hawkins gang, Vecna had been temporarily defeated and was sent back to the Upside Down by Eleven not before Vecna had made his presence seen in Hawkins. Moreover, the Hawkins team is in a bit of a vulnerable spot, with Max in a coma state. Therefore, now, it is up to the gang to defeat Vecna and save Hawkins.
'Stranger Things' stars Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, David Harbour as Jim Hopper, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, and Sadie Sink as Max Mayfield. Max's life is with Vecna
Season 4 of 'Stranger Things' did not witness a great time for Max. She is in the aftermath of the death of her stepbrother, Billy. Max is still in a guilt-ridden phase, thinking that she is responsible for Billy's death. She had been seeing the school counsellor as well. Eleven moved out of the town with Will and Joyce and her boyfriend Lucas is now with the popular crowd, therefore, Max is kind of left alone.
In the midst of all these chaos, Max became one of the victims of Vecna and barely escaped both of his attempts to catch her, all thanks to Kate Bush's 'Running up the Hill' and Eleven's timely help. However, the attack by Vecna had left Max in a comatose state. Now, the theory from Reddit puts forth the point, "I have a theory that Eleven is going to have to go into Henry's mind to get Max's soul back." This theory makes sense as Vecna uses his mind to shatter his victims. And if the theory is true, Eleven would have to take the dangerous leap and dive into Vecna's mind in order to bring Max back.

Will is the Key
This is one of the most popular theories that has been going viral. As we all know, Will is the starting point of 'Stranger Things'. He is the first one that we get to witness being abducted into the Upside Down. Will survived the entire first season in the Upside Down when Barb was consumed almost instantly. Moreover, Will acted as a host to the Upside Down monsters in Season 2 and still possesses some trace of connection to the world. Further, Will has previously noted that the Mindflayer does not want to harm him.
So, it raises the question if or not Will is the chosen one. And the theory posted by a Redditor gives a dark outlook. The user wrote, "He simply doesn't want to kill him because he has been wanting a body to use ever since he has been banished to that alternate dimension." If this theory is true it would make Will a potential host for Vecna. Moreover, it has already been confirmed that Will has a bigger role to play in the final season, which makes this theory even stronger.
Eleven saving the day
The powers of Eleven have progressed drastically throughout the course of the series. Throughout the various seasons of the series, we have witnessed Eleven learning to use her powers, pushing her limits, and losing and regaining her powers while saving her friends in the process. Season 4 had given us a shocking revelation that it was Eleven, who had opened the gate into the Upside Down and trapped Vecna there.
Also, it was Eleven who saved Max from Vecna in the epic final battle of Season 4. So far, Eleven has been the only worthy opponent to have a stand-off with Vecna and the upcoming battle is going to be nothing the gang has seen before. So, it will take everything Eleven has in order to destroy Vecna, which would potentially leave Eleven sacrificing herself in the process. This theory has been speculated by a lot of fans worldwide, however, there has been no official confirmation about it.
