‘Sisyphus: The Myth’ the upcoming Netflix K-drama produced by JTBC has all the viewers hearts racing with teasers that keep you hooked for the whole one minute of it. The dystopian themed K-drama with an ominous sound as the background, fleeting scenes of war-torn cities, action-packed sequences, and addition of futuristic sci-fi stories are exactly what needed to be thrown in the mix for the slot that the hit series ‘Run On’ resides on now. To top it off, ‘Sisyphus: The Myth’ boasts a dream casting lineup of powerhouse K-pop actors featuring Cho Seung-woo, Park Shin-hye, Sung Dong-II, Tae In-ho, Chae Jong-hyeop, and ‘Parasite’ famed child actor Jung Hyeon-jun.

With a series of trailers and teasers and a brief description of the characters, ‘Sisyphus: The Myth’ promises a gripping storyline that is interwoven in different timelines. The plot opens with a genius engineer Han Tae-sool played by Cho Seung-woo who has built his world-renowned Quantum and Time Company and incessantly works to innovate more new-age technology. But in a series of unprecedented events, Han Tae Sool comes to know of a secret that will change his world. A girl from the future Kang Seo-hae played by Park Shin-hye visits him and claims that she is here to save him and save the world.

Along with the picturesque shots of a vividly war-torn world, the teasers have also revealed that Kang Seo-hae is a fan of BTS’ song ‘Spring Day’ which can be heard in the background while Seo-hae unravels the warn torn city of Myeongdong.

Cho Seung-wo

Cho Seung-wo plays the lead male protagonist Han Tae-sool, the genius engineer who has no attachment beyond work. Hailed in the world as ‘miracle worker’, words on the street, there is no problem that Han Tae-sool can’t solve. Yet in a spin of fate or a glitch in metrics, Han Tae-sool comes across clues that explain his brother’s death and reveal a lot more. 

Cho Seung-woo, the South Korean award-winning actor has starred in over 15 films including ‘The Classic’ (2003), ‘Marathon’ (2005), ‘Tazza: The High Rollers’ (2006) and ‘Inside Men’ (2015), television series like ‘The King's Doctor’ (2012), ‘God's Gift: 14 Days’ (2014), ‘Stranger’ 1&2 (2017&2020) and ‘Life’ but is most prominently known for his spectacular musical theater leads like ‘Jekyll & Hyde’, ‘Hedwig and the Angry Inch’ and ‘Man of La Mancha’ and more.

Park Shin-hye

Park Shin-hye will be portraying the female lead Kang Seo-hae aka the girl from the future who has come to save Han Tae-sool and claims that saving him will mean saving the world. Shin-hye’s character is feisty, never seen without guns or scary-looking gas masks but her dynamics with Tae-sool will gradually change through the drama as they spend more time together in a quest to save the world. 

Park Shin-hye is one of the most promising K-drama actresses who has starred in much-loved shows like ‘You're Beautiful’ (2009), ‘The Heirs’ (2013), ‘Pinocchio’ (2014–2015), ‘Doctors’ (2016), ‘Memories of the Alhambra’ (2018–2019) and the most recent one being ‘#Alive’ (2020).

Sung Dong-II

Sung Dong-II will portray the character of CEO Park. Extremely popular for his various portrayal, Dong-II has been delivered stellar hits for a decade and some of his most notable works include ‘Hwarang’ where he starred next to BTS V aka Kim Taehyung, ‘Hospital Playlist’, ‘The Legend of the Blue Sea’, ‘The Cursed’, ‘Your Honor’ and more.

Tae In-ho

Tae In-ho, the 40-year-old critically acclaimed award-winning K-drama actor will be playing Eddie Kim. The ‘Descendants of the Sun’ star has worked over thirty films and television series and some of his notable works include ‘Family Affair’, ‘Misaeng: Incomplete Life’, ‘The Good Wife’, and more.

Chae Jong-hyeop

Chae Jong-hyeop will be playing the role of Sun, a wannabe K-pop idol but his company goes collapses, leaving him in urgent need of money. As he struggles to make the ends meet and carry on with the obstacles, one day he meets a strange woman who will change his life. Chae Jong-hyeop was previously seen in the SBS show ‘Hot Stove League’.
