ANDOVER, MASSACHUSETTS: The tragic incident involving the death of five-year-old Sidney Olson earlier this year took a heartrending turn as prosecutors announced that the driver of the Sysco truck responsible for the accident would not face criminal charges.

Essex District Attorney Paul F Tucker disclosed this information on Friday, November 17, following a comprehensive investigation spanning over six months into the incident that led to the death of young Sidney on the streets of Andover, Massachusetts, as per Daily Mail.

Investigation involved thorough examination of video footage from inside the truck

Despite the family's claims that Sidney had the 'walk' signal at the intersection, the investigation concluded that the driver failed to spot the child while proceeding through the green light. District Attorney Tucker, in a statement, highlighted, "The investigative findings do not provide sufficient evidence to seek criminal charges against the driver of the tractor-trailer."

The investigation involved a thorough examination of video footage from inside the truck, revealing that the driver had come to a stop at the intersection.

However, upon proceeding when the light turned green, he was unable to see Sidney riding her scooter in the crosswalk below.

Tucker emphasized, "The driver was not impaired by any substances and immediately came to a controlled stop after the collision."

Law enforcement authorities conducted toxicology screenings on the driver and a mechanical inspection of the vehicle, with the driver fully cooperating with the investigation.

Despite these measures, the lack of substantial evidence to support criminal charges led to the decision not to prosecute the driver.
