GRESHAM, OREGON: Sharday McDonald, 30, has reportedly been sentenced to just 30 days in jail and three years of probation on Tuesday, September 12, for waterboarding her baby and placing him in a freezer.

McDonald was arrested by Gresham Police in October 2021. When they arrived at her home, they discovered her placing the baby in the freezer.

What was the motive behind Sharday McDonald's cruel action?

Police said McDonald was heard shouting, "You don't want him. Let me show you this little f*****g baby, I don't fing give a f**k about!"

Shockingly, the police stated that McDonald claimed she tortured the baby to check if the father "gave a f**k at all," and to test his reaction.

McDonald was holding the baby in her arms when she opened the door for the police.

The baby's father later provided a video call recording in which McDonald was seen holding the baby by his onesie and waterboarding him.

According to police reports, the baby appeared to be struggling to breathe as McDonald water poured down his face and into his nose.

Medical experts consulted during the investigation confirmed the seriousness of the incident.

A pediatrician stated that the child would have been unable to breathe while water was being poured into his nose, potentially leading to severe and life-threatening complications, per the Daily Mail.

What are the charges against Sharday McDonald?

McDonald reportedly told the cops that she believed putting her baby under running water would somehow compel the father to return.

The whereabouts of the father while the baby was being waterboarded have not been disclosed.

McDonald was found guilty of criminal mistreatment, tampering with a witness and ID theft.

McDonald alleged her actions were not intended to harm or kill her son by drowning him or placing him in the freezer. Instead, she asserted that she waterboarded the baby out of sheer spite.

It is not known if the baby is well. Furthermore, it is unclear whether McDonald will have any future contact with the child.
