MILPITAS, CALIFORNIA: Shannon O’Connor, a California mother who has been accused of organizing secret alcohol-fueled sex parties for her 15-year-old son’s friends, including underage boys and girls was reportedly attacked in a Santa Clara County jail on October 24, 2022, as per court filings. She was allegedly beaten by five inmates for nearly 16 seconds at the Elmwood Correctional Facility, KRON 4 reported. The filing comes after lawyers revealed that O’Connor might be preparing to plead guilty to the accusations, as per the Daily Mail.
The five inmates who attacked O’Connor are scheduled to be arraigned in court this week, KRON 4 reports. The attackers have been identified as Erika Amaya, Danielle Chavez, Sophia Vigil, Anita Quiroz, and Marjaana Gardea, according to the New York Post. O’Connor was arrested in 2021 and is facing 39 criminal counts of felony child endangerment and sexual battery, considering some of her victims are as young as 13 years old. In recent proceedings, O’Connor’s attorneys reportedly indicated they might be seeking a prison term of eight years or less and may prepare to change the suspect’s plea to guilty. O’Connor can be released with as little as four years of a sentence with good behavior, the publication noted.

Shannon O’Connor did not fight back during jail attack
Recent court documents filed in O’Connor’s case showed that the 47-year-old mother was attacked by five inmates at the Elmwood Correctional Facility, a medium-security jail in Milpitas, California. The Elmwood Correctional Facility is reportedly managed by the Santa Clara Sheriff's Office and is home to approximately 600 female inmates arrested across Northern California County. “On October 24, 2022, five inmates assaulted (O’Connor) while inside a dorm room. The assault lasted for approximately sixteen seconds until deputies entered the dorm room,” Sheriff’s Deputy Frank Thrall reportedly wrote in court filings.
The deputy mentioned that the inmates allegedly kicked O’Connor and also beat her with bare hands. However, O’Connor did not fight back during the attack, Thrall noted. Officials reportedly broke up the fight and transferred O’Connor to a hospital, KRON 4 reported. She was returned to jail after being treated for her injuries. No motive behind the attack was revealed by the authorities. All five inmates will reportedly be arraigned in court on Thursday, April 27, for “one count of assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury,” the publication noted. Despite the attack, O’Connor holds no chance of getting out of jail and has been denied bail.

‘Prelude of what she will face’
As the news of O’Conner getting attacked in prison made the rounds online, social media users immediately shared their reactions to the incident. “Now she is trapped in the ugly, dark side of life. She caused her young victims to be there too,” one user wrote on Twitter. “This might be a prelude to what she will face in prison. Like male counterparts in the Prison system, they do not like individuals that have PREYED ON JUVENILES,” added another. One said, “I hope they put these 5 "women" in a max security prison now. Maybe even throw away the key. 5 against one- sick” while another added, “She's Lucky they didn't beat her to death.”
