Fans of Marvel's 'Daredevil' Netflix series have been eagerly waiting to see the show's characters return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for years. And now one of the actors who plays a very important Marvel character on the show has expressed interest in making her return.

Élodie Yung's Elektra Natchios made her MCU debut in 'Daredevil' Season 2. Since then she's been across the spectrum, starting out as an antihero and ending up as a villainous member of the evil ninja clan known as the Hand. Elektra seemingly died in the final episode of Netflix's 'The Defenders' miniseries that brought together the heroes of their Marvel shows, 'Daredevil', 'Luke Cage', 'Iron Fist' and 'Jessica Jones'. However, death is more of a revolving door when it comes to Marvel characters, with Elektra herself returning from the dead at least once, and Yung has now revealed that she would be happy to return to the role.

"Oh my God, I would love to. Especially since they've adjusted my costume," Yung said during a virtual Wizard World panel with Fandom Spotlite. "I would love to. Let me tell you, I love this character because she's so complex and broken. She's got a lot of villain in her, and that I can relate to, and also a lot of good. It's such an amazing character. I would love for Marvel to bring her back."

Of course, with the Marvel-Netflix partnership at an end, the chances of Elektra actually returning at the street level again are pretty limited. However, the upcoming movie 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' raises a unique possibility for Elektra's return. The movie, which will have a heavy focus on martial arts, will feature the Ten Rings terrorist organization. The group has made many appearances since the very beginning of the MCU in 2008's 'Iron Man' and they are led by the Mandarin (Tony Leung).

Not much is known about the Ten Rings but it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for the Hand to be part of the organization. This could open the door for Elektra to return to the MCU, either through the movie itself or through its inevitable sequels.

Would you like to see Elektra return to the MCU? Which upcoming project do you think would be perfect to reintroduce the character? Let us know in the comments.

'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' is scheduled to release on May 7, 2021.
