'Shameless' season 10 spoilers show Mickey and Ian desperately in need of a 'break' from each other

'Shameless' season 10 might be a little over a month away but Showtime is wasting no time in teasing us with bits and pieces of what to expect, especially in terms of Mickey and Ian's ever convoluting love story.

In the official trailer for the upcoming season 10, which will also be the first time we see the Gallaghers back without Fiona (Emmy Rossum), the family is doing quite alright, with Debbie (Emma Kenney) now stepping up to manage the household in place of big sister Fiona. But all the way in prison, things aren't all that fine between Mickey (Noel Fischer) and Ian (Cameron Monaghan.)

The two found each other in the cells after Ian got imprisoned for blowing up a van and arrived in prison to see Mickey as his bottom-bunk inmate. They wasted no time in diving into each other's arms and mouths, making out like crazy upon being reunited after such a long time. But clearly the honeymoon phase has worn out, as season 10's trailer shows Ian suggesting they go on a break. Mickey responds to that asking him "Are you dumping me?" to which Ian doesn't reply, but we all know how far the threshold of patience goes for Gallaghers, so maybe a break is on the cards.

Teasing further about the Gallavich love story, Showtime released behind-the-scenes footage of Monaghan talking about Mickey and Ian's relationship and all the wholesome aspects of this loving bond they share, when suddenly Fischer appears in the frame and Monaghan yells at him to get out. Perhaps this is to indicate what the dynamics between Mickey and Ian are like in the tenth season and if Ian's feelings about Mickey are even a tenth of what Monaghan's seemed like towards Fischer, then Mickey, honey, you have a big storm coming!

'Shameless' returns with its season 10 on November 4, at 9 pm, only on Showtime.
