'Sexy Beast' Episode 5 Takeaway: Deedee Harrison's attempt to reconcile with estranged family backfires

LONDON, ENGLAND: 'Sexy Beast' streaming on Paramount+, revolves around the early lives of Gal Dove, Don Logan and DeeDee Harrison- the characters that were introduced in the 2000 film of the same name.
Episode 5 of the series takes us through the early days of DeeDee (Sarah Greene), who works as an adult film star and how she separated from her family.
DeeDee Harrison visits her family after years
As her life seems to be falling apart after she quits her job with Ricky Sidhu (Nitin Ganatra) and Dominic McGraw (Peter Ferdinando) creates problems for her, DeeDee plans to reconnect with her estranged family on her mother's birthday.
Her angry father refuses to talk to her and walks away from the dinner table when she tries to start a conversation. DeeDee's sobbing mother also turns her back on her.
She is further shocked when her sister Linda Harrison (Alice Bailey Johnson) also maintains a distance and keeps their previous meetings and conversations a secret.
DeeDee's attempt to reconcile falls flat as her father asks her to leave the house.
What happened in DeeDee Harrison's past?
During the episode, we get a flashback into DeeDee's past when she had just started out her new career in adult industry. One night, when she was asleep, her father dragged her out of the bed as he learned about DeeDee's career choices.
Her called her a 'disgrace' to the family and threw her out of their house. She never spoke to her parents until this day when she visited them and tried to mend the broken relations.
Gal Dove confesses his love to DeeDee Harrison
DeeDee then meets Gal Dove (James McArdle) and tells all about her meeting with her parents. In anger and frustration, she blames her parents for not trying to reconnect with her. She then accuses her sister for allegedly snitching on her.
During the conversation, Gal confesses his love. However, DeeDee walks away stating that it would never work out.
It would be interesting to see how Gal would manage to win DeeDee's heart while being engaged to Marjorie Kern (Eliza Bennett).
