Seventeen is set to hit the United States this week for a debut guest appearance on the CBS network. The K-pop boy group's agency Pledis Entertainment announced that they will perform on 'The Late Late Show with James Corden Show'. Here's all you need to know for Seventeen's special appearance:

Air date

Seventeen will appear on the famous American late-night talk show on January 7, 2021, at 12:37 am EST/ 2:37 pm KST. Although the show regularly airs around that time, James Corden and his team don't focus on the timeslot, according to Deadline. The show's executive producer Ben Winston explained, “We’re not on at 12:37am, we launch our show at 12:37am. The way we think about the show is how it’s shared the next day. Our competition isn’t what’s on at 12:30am, our competition is anything anyone is watching throughout the next 24 hours on their TVs or laptops. We make a loud fun variety show every night, we’re not making a ‘let’s be quiet, someone’s about to fall asleep’ show.”

Concept

Hosted by actor and comedian James Corden, 'The Late Late Show' seeks to attract audiences from around the world with international stars making appearances as special guests, and that includes acts from South Korea that have become an increasingly popular approach.

For the upcoming episode, Seventeen will perform the lead single 'Home; Run' from their latest Korean-language extended play '; [Semicolon]' which released in October. While the EP blends dance-pop, funk, pop, acid jazz, and bossa nova, 'Home; Run' is an uptempo '20s and '30s swing and dance-pop song. The song incorporates strong brass sound, finger-snaps, cheerful beats and a jazzy piano harmony in its composition with traditional Asian instruments in its bridge. Lyrically, the song highlights the passion of youth with a comforting message. 'Home;Run' has not only appeared on the "double million seller" EP, but has made its way onto a Times Magazine article for The Songs and Albums That Defined K-Pops Monumental Year in 2020.

Apart from their upcoming performance on the popular US show, Seventeen will also greet their fans from around the world. Seventeen will also be joined by 'Bumblebee' actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld on the show.
