Mark-Paul Gosselaar became a household name after he shot to fame with 'Saved by the Bell' which aired on NBC from 1989-1993. After equally prominent stints in popular shows like 'NYPD Blue', 'Franklin & Bash', and most recently Fox's 'The Passage', Gosselaar is about to reprise his role of Zack Morris in the NBC sitcom's upcoming reboot. We caught up with the actor as he gears up to step into Morris' shoes once again and he had quite the tea to spill about the 2020 remake.

In an exclusive interview with MEA WorldWide (MEAWW), Gosselaar reminisces about filming a 'Saved By the Bell' movie in Hawaii and confirms the new cast of characters includes Zack Morris's son and confirms Kelly Kapowski is the mother. Gosselaar brought up old times at Hawaii, saying, "I've been here many times. We spent a lot of family vacations here. It's the first place my wife and I went to after we got engaged. That's why it holds a special place in my heart. Actually filmed one of the 'Saved By The Bell' movies in Oahu."

He spoke of how Morris' son will be on the show and what he thinks of the new narrative, "The character is just the offspring of Zach and Kelly. So I don't think he's taken over for Zach. I mean, I've read a few of the scripts, it's just a completely new group of kids at Bayside. So, it's more like 'Saved By The Bell' 2020, I don't know if I would categorize it as a reboot because we're sort of playing our ages now and we're not going back to school. Kelly and Zach's son happens to be a student at Bayside."

Gosselaar, who hasn't started filming for the show as of yet expects the reunion with his former castmates to go smoothly. When asked how it had been for him getting to reunite with the cast, Gosselaar revealed, "I haven't started working on the show yet. So, I don't know. We like each other before. I don't know if maybe that might be the case once we work with each other again. We enjoy each other, we've always, enjoyed each other and it was genuine what people saw on screen of us. It continues to this day, I don't think it's gonna change."
