Kate Hudson's Isla Gordon is all set to return with her team of Los Angeles Waves for Season 2 of the hit Netflix show 'Running Point.' Ahead of the sophomore season's impending arrival on the streaming platform on April 23, Netflix recently hosted a grand premiere event for the new season. The event, held at the Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles, was highly anticipated given the show's popularity. According to a Netflix press release, the premiere event featured the screening of the first two episodes of the upcoming second season.

Following the screening, Zuri Hall took to the stage to moderate an illustrious panel that included Hudson, Scott MacArthur, Drew Tarver, Fabrizio Guido, Brenda Song, Uche Agada, and Chet Hanks. David Stassen, Mindy Kaling, and Ike Barinholtz serve as executive producers, in addition to writing. The show is loosely based on the Los Angeles Lakers and inspired by the real-life exploits of the legendary Jeanie Buss, who also serves as an executive producer. The other executive producers are Linda Rambis, Michael Weaver, and Howard Klein.

The official Netflix synopsis of 'Running Point' reads, "Isla Gordon (Kate Hudson) is no longer the surprise choice to lead the Los Angeles Waves; she’s the one everyone is watching. With the franchise finally rebounding after last year’s scandal, Isla is determined to prove she’s not just keeping the seat warm for her brother Cam (Justin Theroux). What she doesn’t know is that Cam is quietly maneuvering behind the scenes to reclaim his post, turning every misstep into ammunition." The synopsis further continues, "As she tries to balance the pressure of running a franchise with devoting time to her personal life, every decision on and off the court counts. To survive the family power plays and the scrutiny of the board, she’ll have to rip up last season’s game plan and come up with a whole new playbook if she wants to close out the season on top. From executive producers Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, and David Stassen, season two of Running Point raises the stakes, deepens the family drama, and finds even more comedy in what it takes to run a modern sports empire."

In addition to these, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos, Lisa Rinna, and Macaulay Culkin were also present at the event, which generated significant buzz ahead of the upcoming release.
