The year 2020 hasn't been the easiest one for 'Real Housewives of Dallas' star Brandi Redmond. From getting tangled in controversy for her past racist comments to checking into rehab to take care of herself, the housewife has gone through it all. Unfortunately, Brandi's misery was far from over, as in the month of October the Redmonds were greeted with a family tragedy.

On Saturday, October 10, Brandi took to her Instagram to reveal that her mother-in-law, Jill Marie Redmond, died in a car crash. Brandi's nine-year-old daughter, Brinkley, was in the car with Jill at the time of the accident. Luckily, Brinkley managed to survive the crash. In a now-deleted post, Brandi posted on her Instagram a series of family photographs, and captioned it with, "My husband's beautiful mom has gone on to be with our Savior and my sister in laws said it best...so I PLEASE ask that you keep my family in your prayers during this difficult time."

"I ask that you lift my sweet Brinkley up as she continues to heal and that God protects her heart and eyes from this tragedy,” she wrote. “I am so thankful for her life. This is probably the most thankful yet pain I’ve ever felt," added the housewife.

Although Brandi did not reveal any further details about the crash nor her daughter's injuries, a post made by the housewife's sisters-in-law provided more insight into what might have transpired. They posted a lengthy tribute to their mother on their podcast page.

"This is our mom, Jill Mari Redmond. We spoke to her daily. To speak of her in past tense hurts beyond words. Hours ago we lost her in a tragic car accident. Thank you, Jesus, for saving our niece who was in the car with her. To know our mom was to love her. She was a shining light to all who were lucky enough to know her."

"She loved so fiercely. She felt so deeply. And she loved Jesus with all her heart. Her world was FAMILY. She loved her 4 children and many grandbabies to the depths of her soul, and she left us doing what she loved most — caring for her grandbabies. We are in shock and are experiencing an indescribable pain."

"We have not missed one week since we started this podcast journey. It has brought us joy and lots of growth and learning. But we are going to pause our podcast for now until we can talk and share with you again. Thank you for your love and support and it would mean so much to us for you to go listen to and share our episodes in the meantime. We even had the pleasure of having our mom on an episode," expressed the sisters.

"In our mom’s honor, if you have a living parent please tell them how much you love and appreciate them, and hug your loved ones extra tight tonight and always. We love you. Shine bright and spread love and kindness," they added.

In another post that has since been deleted,  the housewife wrote, "Right now I feel like someone gutted my soul and faith. I know you know how important the blood of Jesus is over you and to release God's angels to protect you, which we pray daily and I’m so thankful for this and you. Stay strong my baby.”

A few days later, the housewife once again took to her Instagram to post an update about her daughter's health to her followers. "Thank you all for asking about sweet Brinkley as she is healing mentally and physically. I love this photo of her as a baby with my mother in law." The ginger-haired housewife urged her followers and fans to sign a petition for ensuring safety at the intersection where her mother-in-law lost her life.

She wrote, " I’m asking for your help to sign a petition for safety at the intersection where my mil’s life was tragically taken from us. Again, Lord thank you, thank you for Brinkley’s life. There will never be a day I don’t thank you for my precious baby girl."

'Real Housewives of Dallas' Season 5 premieres on Tuesday, January 5, at 9/8c on Bravo.
