'Real Housewives of Orange County': Fans urge Emily to replace her husband Shane alongside her hip replacement surgery
Where do we even begin with Shane Simpson and his “sarcasm”. This entire season we saw Shane passing off his being a terrible husband as “sarcasm” and his brand of humor. Despite him being emotionally unavailable for his wife, Emily Simpson, and being awful to her during most of their interactions this season, the housewife continued defending her husband and their marriage. But on the latest episode, we saw her finally break down and express her disappointment in Shane.
Earlier this season, we saw Emily complain about her arthritis returning and how she’s in extreme pain all the time. She finally went to see a doctor, and got an x-ray done, post which the doctor revealed that she might need a hip-replacement surgery. Such news can break even the toughest of hearts, so an emotional Emily calls up her husband Shane to share the grave news and just like any normal person she expected some sympathy and support from her husband. But Shane being Shane asks her if the doctor did x-rays on her, and tells her that they don’t have to discuss about it at that moment and just hangs up without even offering her any words of support or displaying any signs of being upset about his wife’s health.
Later in her green room interview, the housewife breaks into tears as she expresses her disappointment with Shane not being supportive of her or even being there for her during her tough time, while she did everything within her power to support him while he was busy preparing for his law exam.
Fans were left feeling disappointed with Shane’s reaction to Emily’s news and persuaded the housewife to leave him. A fan tweeted, “All Shane can say is, “I told you so” when Emily calls him to tell him she needs a hip replacement??? We haven’t seen much of him since the bread basket, and I almost forgot how much of a dick he is. #RHOC”. Another fan wrote, “Poor Emily needs to bounce on that marriage. Better to be alone for the right reasons than with someone for the wrong reasons. #RHOC”. “Shane having an attitude after his wife just told him she needs a hip replacement is VILE #rhoc Emily better run off with her new hip! @BravoTV @Andy”, pointed out another fan.
