'Real Housewives of Orange County': Fans label Emily's husband Shane Simpson the 'worst husband' for being indifferent and rude
Shane Simpson, the least liked husband among the spouses of the stars of 'Real Housewives of Orange County' finally made his appearance on episode five which aired on September 3. Shane was missing from the last few episodes as he was busy preparing for his California Bar Exam. He had checked himself into a hotel to avoid any distraction from his family.
His wife Emily Simpson held the fort until then juggling between work, family, and friends to the best of her abilities. Emily had to spend Valentine's Day and her 10-year wedding anniversary alone since Shane refused to be a part of Emily's plan of celebrating their anniversary with a trip to Vegas. In earlier episodes, Emily had expressed how she was feeling "disrespected" by Shane.
Emily was on a Beverly Hills day-tour with her girlfriends, on the day of Shane's arrival. However, she cuts short her fun time with the girls to go spend time with her husband.
She went home expecting Shane to be there eagerly waiting for her and ready to express his joy and love on seeing her. Instead, she was met by an indifferent and rude Shane who only seemed concerned about having his food and bossing over his wife. All he did was make a fuss, ask her to clean the house and put the kids to bed.
He then passes snide comments at her by asking if she realized how much he contributed to the household during his absence. Emily is genuinely puzzled by Shane's behavior and wonders what's happening to their marriage since Shane wasn't even expressing an iota of joy about seeing his family after so long.
When Emily tries to have a conversation with Shane by asking him how his bar exam went and if he felt relieved that it was done, Shane cuts her off by saying he was tired and just wants to eat.
Shane's curt behavior was even more apparent in his confessionals. When the producer prompted him by asking if he missed Emily during his time away from the family, his response was appalling. He said that he didn't miss them. This raised some red flags and fans were left wondering if Shane was having an affair.
His behavior — indifference, avoiding a conversation, dodging any physical contact, and being extremely snarky — indicates that he is either having an affair or is just a cold-hearted person. Fans appear to be leaning more towards him having an affair.
One fan wrote, "I know it seems impossible that Shane could have another woman because let's face it, he's cringey af, but it seems he definitely has a girlfriend. He literally tenses up and looks disgusted when Emily comes near him. She's too smart and pretty to put up with this #RHOC."
Another fan commented, "It’s going to take a while to process that conversation between @RealOCEmily and #Shane. It was so uncomfortable my teeth hurt. I kept waiting for him to say anything other than requests to make him dinner and watch him eat. #RHOC #Bravo."
Several fans began giving Shane the title of "worst husband" for his terrible behavior. A fan wrote, "Watching #RHOC and I am devastated and furious. Shane's testimonial about not missing his family secured his spot as Worst Husband of all franchises. Yikes."
Another fan echoed, "@RealOCEmily does Shane really want to be the WOSRT HUSBAND in the world ?!? You and your kids deserve so much more Emily #rhoc @BravoTV @Andy." Emily does deserve a lot better. We hope she realizes it soon and kicks Shane out of her life.
