Once named the highest-paid banker in England, Roger Jenkins was born in England in 1955. He attended the Jenkins Edinburg Academy and graduated from Heriot-Watt University with a degree in Economics. His brother David Jenkins, a British athlete, was jailed for smuggling $54 million worth of steroids across the Mexican border. After graduating, he briefly worked at BP before joining Barclays as a graduate trainee. Over the years, Roger continued to rise the ranks and he set up a group advising companies on tax and regulatory management.
Roger was married to his fellow banker Catherine McDowell, and share a daughter. Following his divorce, he met a Bosnia refugee named Sanela Dijana Ćatić (now Diana Jenkins). In an interview with DailyMail, Diana joked about their meeting saying, "It was perhaps more instant attraction for him than me. He’s a very, very nice man. What people don’t understand, I think, is that Roger really was, you could say, nobody when we met. He was not this very wealthy man. He was my first friend in England really."
