TV’s newest heartthrob Rege-Jean Page debuted as a host on Episode 13 of Season 46 of ‘Saturday Night Live’ (SNL), and looks like he completely nailed his first gig on the popular comedy sketch show. Apart from his rib-tickling opening monologue, the British-Zimbabwean actor also showed his exceptional acting skills on the show’s skit.

The 31-year-old TV star, who played the role of Simon Basset in Netflix's hit series ‘Bridgerton, crooned  Olivia Rodrigo’s career’s biggest hit 'Drivers License' while also mentioning Taylor Swift’s recent album ‘Folkore’.

Is Rege-Jean Page a Taylor Swift fan?

Dressed in a casual avatar, Rege was seen playing Pool while chilling at the table along with Pete Davidson. While discussing the growth of the artists in the funny skit, the actor breaks into Olivia Rodrigo’s 'Drivers License' song and later expresses his fondness for Taylor Swift’s album ‘Folkore’.

While discussing Taylor Swift at the pool table, Rege says, “Taylor, well yeah but Taylor has shifted from the autobiographical and now she is in the pocket creatively. Look at Folklore." He concludes, “Ultimately, she is a freaking storyteller."

Rege also got a huge cheer from the audience when he crooned Rodrigo’s 'Drivers License'.

‘The crossover I didn’t know I needed’

The latest episode of SNL will probably be remembered for a long time as we could hear a loud cheer from the audience as soon as Rege Jean Page landed on the stage and it continued even after Rege finished his opening monologue. If we talk about the actor’s fondness for Taylor Swift and singing 'Drivers Licence’, the Internet gave thumbs to it on Twitter.

Speaking on the same, a user stated, “Pete standing up and ready to fight for @taylorswift13 made me laugh. What a great skit. I honestly feel he is a Tay fan #SNL” Another shared, “Rege-Jean Page singing drivers license?? The crossover I didn’t know I needed #SNL”

A Twitterati added, “Thank you, snl, for reminding me that regé-jean page and the olivia rodrigo drivers license philosophy exist in the same prevailing realm. hit those high notes pete.” One asserted, “Regé-Jean Page talking about @taylorswift13 on SNL is something I didn’t know I needed.” The next concluded, "Apparently my sexual identity IS the men of #SNL + Regé-Jean Page singing along to #DriversLicense with a cameo from Kate McKinnon, with a side of Taylor Swift discussion.
