'Real Housewives of Potomac': Will Monique Samuels be fired after showdown with Candiace? Fans demand her exit
The 'Real Housewives of Potomac' episode every fan was waiting for aired tonight (September 27). The fight between Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard Bassett (at the time of filming, October 2019) that was being teased since the beginning of the season finally made it to the episode and it was as explosive as the news articles that broke after the fight stated.
A simple conversation between the two ladies while at the winery to celebrate Gizelle Bryant's Literary Award escalated to a point of no return. The fight started with the rest of the housewives asking the two women if things were good between them after the heated argument they had during the weekend at the lake house. One thing led to another after that as both of them were agitated. And before anyone knew, Monique reached out for Candiace's weave and kept pulling at it. The impact of this physical exchange was such that the table they were at fell, plates and wine glasses were on the floor, and the housewives, as well as the producers, ran helter-skelter trying to break this fight up.
The women were separated after some time and isolated so that they could calm down. However, Monique wasn't done with Candiace yet. The episode saw running, trying to chase Candiace and the physical fight continue but she was stopped in her tracks by the producers as she screamed and tugged to escape.
This shocking incident didn't just affect the rest of the housewives, but the audiences watching from home too couldn't keep calm after watching the fight transpire on TV. Last week a lot of the audiences were team Monique. They blamed Candiace's knife-waving antics for the fight. However, that judgment was made after just watching a snippet of the fight. After the full-blown fight airing tonight, fans are calling for Monique to be axed from the show. Here are some of the reactions.
"I know there have been other violent encounters in housewives history. But I just think there should be a zero-tolerance policy. You physically put hands on someone, you’re fired. It’s unacceptable to think as a grown-a** woman you can get away with that," wrote a fan. "Get Monique fired ASAP. She just said she wants to kill Candiace! #RHOP #ghetto #ratchet," wrote another.

"I believe in redemption but if I was exec producing #rhop, Monique would be done. NO EXCUSE for violence," read a tweet. "Point blank period Monique is an unhappy person. She’s not happy with her life so she’s trying to find problems with other people. She touched Candice’s hair first and then pulled it for no reason. @BravoTV@Andy#RHOP she needs to go," read another. "I love the mess. I love reality TV. But seeing Monique so Candiace like that I was hurtful. Candiace talks junk but she is not evil. Nor is she vicious. That was unacceptable. Monique should not be allowed on #RHOP," read another tweet.
