Kerry and Andrew are a married couple and parents to three young girls — Kaia, Eva, Sophia — and a son Myles. They recently purchased a house in the same neighborhood as the one Kerry grew up in. In Kerry's words, the decision was right because it's a very safe and family-oriented neighborhood. She also revealed that her mother still lives in their family house closeby and that would mean the children could get more time with her. The couple is habituated to hosting their friends at their house for a gathering twice in a year and since they have a sizeable family, this new house seemed to be the perfect buy for them. However, there are some changes that the house needed and Jonathan and Drew Scott, or the 'Property Brothers' as they're famously known, stepped in to help them with the renovations.

The entryway of the house had a staircase up front and a high ceiling. The couple said that the beauty it brought to the house was the biggest reason they decided to buy this property. However, railings needed a lot of work. Secondly, the rooms in the house were closed off from each other. Kerry mentioned that if she was in the kitchen, her children could be beating each other up in the living room and she would not get a whiff of it. Like all rooms, the dining room was closed off from the rest of the house too. So if the couple ever decided to host their friends, it would be difficult for them to keep an eye on the children while they entertain their guests.

The kitchen itself was big enough but was designed in a way that a huge chunk of the space never received enough light. The kitchen could use a little more functionality and that was another area that needed to be worked upon. The floors were something that needed work as well and the couple had hardwood flooring on their wishlist. The house also had a traditional fireplace but the couple wanted a modern, gas fireplace. They also wished to have a massive window so that the scenic backyard was always visible. The brothers also accommodated Andrew's secret request of a special nook with beachy vibes to be added to the house for Kerry. The brothers took some help from the couple's kids and engaged them in an art project to help design the same. Jonathan and Drew were able to renovate the couple's house in a way that all the things on their wishlist were ticked off. Kerry and Andrew had $200,000 to spare for all of this and the Property Brothers managed the renovations and also saved $7500 from the given budget.

'Property Brothers: Forever Home' airs Wednesday nights on HGTV.
