'Power' Season 6 Episode 5: Ghost is turning a new leaf, but will Maria accept his offer of starting a new life?

In season 6 episode 5, we see Angela's ghost prodding Ghost for the answer to one pertinent question—Why is Tommy (Joseph Sikora) still alive?

Season 6 of Starz's 'Power' has been arguably the most dramatic one in the series with each episode being more intense than the one before. In the most recently aired episode 4 of the final season, we saw Ghost (Omari Hardwick) turn a new leaf and come to terms the fact that he wants out.

For as long as he can remember, Ghost has been a hustler, but it looks like he has had enough. He has been tired of the fight for a while now but seeing Angela's (Lela Loren) ghost was the last nail in the coffin. The hallucinations he experienced throughout 'Why Is Tommy Still Alive?' was the amalgamation of all the guilt he has been carrying around since she died.

Angela's ghost prodded him for the answer to one pertinent question—Why is Tommy (Joseph Sikora) still alive? Driven to the edge of madness by this question, we see him setting out to finish the business, and he did not care when or where. He slammed his car into his former business partner's truck in broad daylight before shooting incessantly into the truck.

Tommy survived, and Ghost was taken away by Rashad Tate's (Larenz Tate) undercover agents who had been spying on him. However, he managed to convince Tate that he went after Tommy for him, and was let go. In all these moments, it was evident that Ghost is barely keeping it together, and his mental health was at it's worst.

Despite this, he managed to trick Dre (Rotimi Akinosho) into taking him to Maria's (Maria Rivera) hideout in some events that were very reminiscent of season 3 Ghost. However, instead of killing, like she and Dre and the rest of us imagined, he gives her money and gives her a fair shot at starting over. Having lived this life vicariously through Ghost, we know that loose ends such as this one must not be underestimated, but Ghost is a changed man.

He said as much to Angela's ghost who paid him a visit at the end of the episode. He doesn't want to kill Tommy or Maria. He wants to be an upstanding citizen. Ghost Angela told him that he may not have killed Maria, but he would in the future. We don't know if this prediction will come true, but sure hope it doesn't.

If Maria is smart enough to take the money and leave to start over somewhere else, there is a sliver of hope for her still.

Watch season 6 episode 5 of 'Power' which airs on Sunday, September 22, to find out what becomes of Maria.
