Fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Kanan Stark and his twisted ways may have ended in the main series but there's still more about his life that viewers don't know. The 'Power' universe continues with the prequel 'Power Book III: Raising Kanan', which documents the drug lord's life as an adolescent in South Jamaica, Queens. It explores themes of "identity, violence, and legacy, but it is also a deep dive into the very pathology of family."

If you are someone who enjoys intense drug and crime drama content, these should be on your to-watch list: 'Peaky Blinders', 'Narcos: Mexico', 'City on a Hill', and 'The Mule'.

Does 'Power Book III: Raising Kanan' borrow heavily from 50 Cent's life in Queens?

The official synopsis reads: "Set in South Jamaica, Queens, in 1991, 'Raising Kanan' is a prequel to the original 'Power' franchise. It is a sprawling family drama that revolves around the coming of age of Kanan Stark; Ghost and Tommy's mentor, partner, and adversary, who ultimately dies in a hail of gunfire in the eighth episode of Power's penultimate season. When we catch up with Kanan here, he is the fifteen-year-old only child of Raquel "Raq" Thomas, a cocaine distributor with an emerging network of dealers across the city."

Aside from Mekai Curtis who plays Kanan Stark and Patina Miller who plays Raquel ‘Raq’ Thomas, the series stars Omar Epps, London Brown, Malcolm Mays, Hailey Kilgore, Joey Bada$$, Toby Sandeman, Shanley Caswell, Lovie Simone, and Quincy Brown in key roles.  Read all about them here
