Apple TV+ is churning out their next film, 'Palmer', which stars Justin Timberlake, Alisha Wainright, June Squibb and Juno Temple. As the lead, Timberlake portrays a former All-American collegiate football star named Eddie Palmer who is trying to find his life's purpose, after spending 12 years in jail. The punishment literally torpedoed his football career.
In the trailer, we can see Palmer back in his Louisiana home, where his grandmother, played by June Squibb, as well as a little boy named Sam (Ryder Allen) are eager to see him. Sam has been abandoned by his mother and is being bullied in school. Palmer finds solace in mentoring him. Here's all we know about the film.

Plot details
Eddie Palmer is an athlete who gets addicted to painkillers and is caught robbing a home. After 12 years in prison, he returns to his hometown to find his grandmother caring for a neighbor’s child. However, the child is not able to conform to the rigid behavioral expectations of his rural home. Director Fisher Stevens said of the film in an interview with Billboard, "Next door is a beautiful 30-year-old woman who’s a meth addict, who has an eight-year-old boy, who likes to play with dolls and dress up as a girl in red state America. Justin’s grandmother is co-parenting this boy with the meth addict mom who is always off trying to cop dope.”
