LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The bedazzling award events of the year are here and the World viral blockbuster hit 'Naatu Naatu' from the phenomenal Period Drama 'RRR' has grabbed the 2023 Oscars for Best Original Song. Being the only Indian film to be nominated in the category, 'Naatu Naatu' has created history by winning an Academy Award tonight. 'Naatu Naatu' also has made history by being the first feature film from India to win an Oscar.

'RRR' is a Historic Period drama that is directed by the illuminary SS Rajamouli and stars NT Rama Rao Jr and Ram Charan. The music for this hit number is done by MM Keeravaani with the lyrics penned by Chandrabose. 'Naatu Naatu' has been a storm this award season, with previously gaining wins from Critics' Choice Movie Award and Golden Globes.

'Naatu Naatu' for the Win

The minute 'Naatu Naatu' was announced as the winner of the song, the crowd paid them a standing ovation, combined with a raptor of applause. M M Keeravani began his acceptance speech by giving a nod to the Carpenters by saying that he has grown up to their music and now he is at the Oscars. Keeravani further continued his speech by singing it to the tune of 'Top of The World' by Carpenters. Keeravani said, "There was only one wish on my mind. So was Rajamouli's and my families. RRR has to win, Pride of every Indian. And must put me on the top of the World".

Keeravani further thanked Karthikeya and various films for making this moment possible. He concluded by thanking everyone and saying, "Love you all", whereas Chandrabose said, "Namaste."

'Congratulations fantastic achievement'

Ever since the winner was announced, the internet is exploding with happiness, with many congratulating the winning of their favourite song. One fan added, "Yes! Iconic win! No one was robbed. Naatu Naatu is sweeping this award, as they should be!" Another fan wrote, "O yeahhhh congratulation king Ram Charan & Whole RRR Team". While one fan commented, "Proud moment for Indian Cinema! Thank you #TeamRRR for bringing the Oscars home!". Another fan added to the excitement by commenting, "Congratulations fantastic achievement".
