Season 13 of ABC's superhit show 'Shark Tank' will see a new roster of select guest Sharks coming in aid of budding entrepreneurs. The entrepreneurs pitch their unique business plans to the Sharks, trying to convince them to invest in their idea. The Sharks, who comprise some of the top venture capitalists of the world, decide whether or not to invest in an idea based on several factors. In the upcoming season, prominent tech mogul Nirav Tolia will be joining the team of Sharks alongside Kevin Hart, Peter Jones, Emma Grede, and Daniel Lubetzky.
Nirav Tolia, a top-tier businessman, is better recognized as the co-founder of the hyperlocal social networking platform Nextdoor. However, his successful career had received a major setback back in 2014, when he pleaded guilty to a felony hit-and-run case, where he injured a woman named Patrice Motley. He served 30 days of community service to avoid jail time and paid a $239 fine for the misdemeanor hit and run charge. In his personal life, Tolia is married to Megha Trivedi Tolia and shares three children with her.

Tolia, the son of an Indian immigrant couple, attended Stanford University where he majored in English Literature. He kicked off his career by working at Yahoo! before the entrepreneurial bug bit him. Tolia went on to co-found Epinions, a website that featured product reviews from users. He served as the company's CEO and later COO, when it was acquired by Shopping.com. The company eventually went public and was later acquired by eBay. Following the success of his first business venture, Tolia and his friends founded Nextdoor in 2008. The hyperlocal networking platform is currently available in 11 countries.
However, Tolia decided to step down from his position as CEO in July 2018 and took a prolonged sabbatical in Florence with his wife and kids. He regularly shares photos with his wife and children on Instagram and appear to be a devoted family man.
It is not clearly known when and where Tolia met his wife Megha, but it is believed that they have been married for quite a while. According to her LinkedIn profile, Megha Tolia is presently the Vice President of Strategy and Ecommerce at Method Products, a firm based in San Francisco. A graduate of University of California and Harvard Business School, Megha has had an impressive career trajectory. She has worked with leading firms like Johnson & Johnson and Neutrogena before joining Method Products.
Speaking about his decision for retirement as the CEO of Nextdoor, Nirav Tolia once mentioned, "My wife Megha and I reflected on the fact that we had three young kids and we both had these demanding high-powered jobs. We realized that one day we’d blink and suddenly our kids were going to be teenagers. We both thought, “What if we do something crazy? What if we decide to focus on the most important start-up of our lives, our family?"
