'New Amsterdam' Season 3 Episode 11: Dr Helen lashes out at Max, but fans are glad Sharpwin is 'back at it'
The latest episode of 'New Amsterdam' sees Dr Max Goodwin's (Ryan Eggold) worried about climate change due to a heatwave that has gripped New York. But it's not just the climate that's getting everyone hot under the collar. In fact, it's so hot that Max has decided that the next problem he's going to tackle is global warming. His first step is reducing the use of gloves at the hospital.
Talking about the gloves being off though, Dr Helen Sharpe (Freema Agyeman) has quite a few battles on her hand, particularly with her niece Mina (Nadia Affolter), who she is trying to convince to get therapy to deal with her grief. However, it is suggested that Dr Helen is in need of therapy herself. The combination of personal issues with Mina and Helen's 'friendship' with Max, plus professional chaos with an overwhelmed ED sees Dr Helen lashing out at Dr Lauren (Janet Montgomery). Dr Lauren has just returned from a week-long vacation which she spent with Leyla (Shiva Kalaiselvan) and Dr Helen, due to some tests not being conducted for a patient, accuses Dr Lauren of becoming too soft and putting patients at risk.

Helen also goes against Max's new decision to reduce the use of gloves in the hospital and restocks the gloves. Max tells her that he feels she has put a knife in his back. Helen in a rather flirty moment tells him there are many other ways to save the planet. Fans were thrilled that the two are arguing, after all it's when Helen and Max are arguing that their chemistry is at its finest. One fan tweeted, "My Sharpwin are back at it #NewAmsterdam."
