'New Amsterdam' Season 2 Episode 10: Fans think Dr. Valentina Castro may have misdiagnosed Max and he is not in remission at all
‘New Amsterdam’ had ended on a very scary note just ahead of the Season 2 fall finale, and we have been worried about our favorite hospital and the doctors that work there. The last we saw them, the doctors had unwittingly invited a group of prisoners who arrived at the hospital to murder a fellow-inmate as soon as she became a state witness. From the trailer for the upcoming Season 2 Episode 10, which is set to premiere on Janaury 14, 2020, it is clear that things are going to very dangerous, with the entire hospital potentially going on lockdown.
Meanwhile, we are also concerened about the future of Helen's (Freemay Agyeman) career at New Amsterdam now that she has been stripped of her role as Co-Chair of Oncology and as the Deputy Medical Director. She is truly heartbroken with how everything turned out, especially since all she was trying to do was look for her patient. It is evident that her fellow Co-Chair Dr. Valentina (Ana Villafañe) intervened and made things worse for Helen because they were not seeing eye to eye on anything.
It is high time Max (Ryan Eggold) finds out the truth about why Helen gave half her department to Valentina and when he does, it is not going to pretty for Valentina. As fans will remember, Valentina had threatened to not administer the groundbreaking treatment on any New Amsterdam patients, including Max if Helen would not make her Co-Chair. Now, that she found the loophole to get Helen out of the picture, Valentina did it immediately.
Fans are certainly displeased with this character and want her to be removed as the staff at New Amsterdam, but more importantly. they are worried that she may have mis-diagnosed Max. Some fans have made it abundantly clear online she is not to be trusted and she is capable of doctoring the results of Max's tests to keep getting funding for her research, and getting rid of Helen may have been her clever ploy to get rid of any eyes that are focused on her work.
As a 'New Amsterdam' fans points out on YouTube, "I don't think Max is in remission at all. That doctor that is treating him is shady as hell, also set up Dr. Sharpe to lose her job so she could have the Oncology department all to herself. I think and hopefully she does get found out by Sharpe when the show returns!!!"
