LOS GATOS, CALIFORNIA: The much anticipated 'Black Clover' is coming back with a bold new change that witnesses the return of the evil wizard king, Conrad, and three more previous kings. All of them have the same intention of destroying the 'Clover Kingdom' and they detest the ones with no power. 'Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King' is Netflix's original script that has deviated from the route taken by the original Manga.

With the history of Netflix and its adaptation of popular Manga, it can easily invite skepticism from fans. Also, with the streaming service allotting stringent timelines raises questions about the quality of the film that may be delivered. Nevertheless, the release of two official trailers and one character promo has ignited interest among the 'Black Clover' fandom.

Will the original script live up to expectations?

The creator of the original Manga Yuki Tabata has heaped praises on the original script and says he is extremely impressed. "We are almost ready for the release of the Black Clover movie, which has been previously postponed! I received scripts signed by everyone who appeared in the movie, and both books are filled with bits and pieces of content that make me envious! I'm super impressed! Thank you so much! We hope you all enjoy the movie that so many people have worked so hard on!" he was quoted as saying by Comicbook

The original anime ended in 2021 and there is no official announcement whether the anime series will return to complete the final arc. With the reappearance of Conrad in this movie, it has been assured that the canon plotline will not be affected. While Tabata may have assured the audiences ahead of the release by giving a heads-up about the original script, it is sufficient to keep the fandom excited.

Merit over power is the motto of this original script

While Netflix's decision to include an original script for the film may make fans concerned about the potential character development being butchered, it also raises the anticipation of witnessing 'Asta's journey with numerous wizard kings. With Asta only having physical strength and no magical powers, is heading towards his ambition of becoming a wizard king, only to be threatened by his predecessors. The value of meritocracy being the core of this Netflix adaptation, a benefit of the doubt can be given to witness the characterization and the fierce battle that would emerge between the previous wizard kings and Asta.

'Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King' will premiere on June 16 on Netflix.
