Netflix 'Sweet Magnolias' Season 2: 5 things to know about Joanna Garcia Swisher

The show, which received positive reviews for Season 1, revolves around three women from South Carolina, who are best friends since childhood and share everything with each other. As they got older, they navigated their life through the complexities of romance, career, and family.
Season 1 ended with a massive cliffhanger and fans eagerly want to know who was sitting alongside Kyle in the car that flipped over on the highway. Was it Ty, Annie, or someone else? The answer to that burning question will be provided in the upcoming season.

Joanna Garcia Swisher as Maddie Townsend
Born on August 10, 1979, Joanna Garcia Swisher started performing on stage at the age of 10. Disney Channel discovered her and wanted her to work with him. While attending high school, she was re-discovered by Nickelodeon and starred for three seasons as Samantha on ‘Are You Afraid of the Dark?’

Her biggest role on TV came in 2001 with ‘Reba’, for which she was nominated for a Teen Choice Award. Heather Headley as Helen Decatur
Headley is one of the prominent names in the industry and began her career as a musician. She did a lot of Broadway before releasing studio albums and also played the role of Nala in the Broadway musical ‘The Lion King’. However, her moment of glory came in 2000 when she was cast in ‘Aida’. She garnered praise for her acting and went on to win the Best Actress accolade at the Tony Awards.

Last year, she made her feature film debut with ‘Where’s Rose’ along with Ty Simpkins.
Jamie Lynn Spears as Noreen Fitzgibbons
Born on April 4, 1991, Jamie Lynn Spears had her first major acting role in the 2005 series ‘Zoey 101’. When it comes to feature films, his first movie came out in 2018 and it was titled ‘Bernie the Dolphin’. He reprised his role in its sequel as well.
Carson Rowland as Tyler ‘Ty’ Townsend
Born in 1997, Rowland began acting at the age of 18 and received his first major acting in 2015. He was cast as Riley Sturgis in ‘Tweet: The Series’. The actor also garnered a lot of praise for his acting on the TV show ‘I Am Frankie’. However, his moment of glory came in 2019 with the movie ‘Dream Killer’, for which he received the Best Young Actor accolade at the Actors Awards.
His acting credits include ‘Santa in Training’, ‘American Housewife’, ‘Ghost Tape’, and ‘Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin’.
