Get ready to sit on your couches and enjoy a glass of margarita as Netflix is set to come out with Season 2 of the highly popular series ‘Sweet Magnolias’. The series premiered in 2020 and received positive reviews from everywhere. So, it comes as no shock that the streaming platform has decided to bring the show back for another edition.

The show revolves around three women from South Carolina, who are best friends since childhood and share everything with each other. As they got older, they navigated their life through the complexities of romance, career, and family. Season 1 ended with a lot of drama and there are a lot of things to unravel for everyone. So, there will be no shortage of drama in Season 2.

When does ‘Sweet Magnolias’ Season 2 release and where can you watch it?

Season 2 of the amazing series will be premiering exclusively on Netflix on Friday, February 4. According to the Netflix Press Site, the show will be available for streaming at 3:01 am EST. Viewers can watch the previous season by downloading the Netflix app from Google’s App Store and Apple’s App Store.

What is ‘Sweet Magnolias’ Season 2 all about?

The official synopsis reads, “As Season 2 opens, Maddie, Helen, and Dana Sue learn who is in the car. But that's just the first of many surprises that come out of Prom Night -- surprises that reshape relationships all over town. Friendships flounder. Old loves end and new loves begin. Long-hidden secrets disrupt jobs, change lives, and shift the balance of power in Serenity. Everyone is affected. But in laughter and in loss, the Sweet Magnolias continue to fight for what is right for themselves and the people they love -- even when those efforts come with a high price tag. Will they find there are some problems not even Margarita Night can solve? Come pour it out and find out.”

Who stars in Season 2 of the Netflix series?

All the members of the main cast are returning for Season 2. Joanna Garcia Swisher will be playing the role of Maddie Townsend while Brooke Elliott will be seen portraying the character of Dana Sue Sullivan. On the other hand, Heather Headly will be seen as Helen Decatur.

Joanna Garcia Swisher began her acting career at the age of 13 and went on to play supporting roles in projects such as ‘American Pie 2’, and ‘Superboy’. Her first major acting role came in 1994 with the TV show ‘Are you Afraid of the Dark?’ Since then, she has been a part of several high-end projects in which she played pivotal roles.



 

Her acting credits include ‘The Internship’, ‘Pacific Blue’, ‘Boston Public’, ‘Family Guy’, ‘Gossip Girl’, ‘How I Met Your Mother’, and ‘Once Upon A Time’.

Other actors to feature on the show include Carson Rowland (Tyler), Logan Allen (Kyle), Anneliese Judge (Annie), Justin Bruening (Cal), Jamie Lynn Spears (Noreen), and Brandon Quinn (Ronnie).

Showrunners

Based on the ‘Sweet Magnolias’ books by Sherryl Woods, the show has been developed by Sheryl J. Anderson. Meanwhile, Matt Drake is the producer of the show.

Woods, Anderson, and Dan Paulson serve as executive producers on the show.
