Budgeted at $13 million, 'Rogue City' (also titled 'Bronx' in some regions) is set in Marseille and centers on a complex case of rivalry between gangs and a group of cops, where the "border between personal and professional justice is blurred". Caught in the crosshairs of police corruption and Marseille's warring gangs, a loyal cop has to protect his squad by taking matters into his own hands. Alain Figlarz, who has previously worked on films like 'Taken 3', 'The Bourne Identity' and 'The Transporter', was responsible for the choreography of the stunts and the gritty action scenes. This French crime thriller was shot on location in the south of France.

Release Date

The film's global premiere is on October 30 on Netflix.

Plot

The streets of Marseille are rife with gangland warfare. A bloody shootout at a disco, undertaken by the Orsolani clan, fans the tension in the city. The Anti-Gang Brigade cop Richard Vronski, known for his unorthodox methods, is put in charge of the case alongside a longtime rival from the Banditry Repression Brigade. A new police chief, Ange Leonetti, is also sent down to call the shots and clean up the city. Very quickly, everyone realizes that, in this investigation, you don’t get anything without risks and sacrifices. Vronski and his crew find themselves in a race against time to save their skin.

After this, we are also introduced to Vronski, played by Lannick Gautry, and his renegade cop squad who have developed unconventional ways to fight the gangs in the city -- but their unorthodox ways are not something Leonetti appreciates who would like them to be more disciplined. A shoot-out and subsequent investigations into police corruption further complicate life for Vronski and his team.
