Netflix 'Beckett' Full Cast List: Meet John David Washington and others from action-thriller
‘Beckett’ is an upcoming action-thriller movie on Netflix that revolves around a man named Beckett (John David Washington), who goes for a vacation with his girlfriend April (Alicia Vikander) and becomes the target of a manhunt after a tragic accident.
This is Washington’s second straight release on Netflix. His last movie, ‘Malcolm & Marie’, was also a Netflix original and had Zendaya as the female lead. Meanwhile, it is also the second time Vikander is collaborating with the streaming giant on a movie. ‘The Earthquake Bird’ (2019) was the actress’ first movie to be released on Netflix.

Cast
John David Washington as Beckett
Born on July 28, 1984, John David Washington is the son of legendary actor Denzel Washington. He did not start his professional career as an actor and wanted to play American Football. Professionally, Washington spent four years as the running back for the United Football League's Sacramento Mountain Lions.
However, he did play some cameo roles in some movies that starred his father. In 1992, he played the role of a student in ‘Malcolm X’ while he played a little boy in ‘Devil in a Blue Dress’. He returned to acting in 2010 when he starred in ‘The Book of Eli’. At the time, he just made a cameo appearance in the film and was also the co-producer. His first major acting role came in 2015 with the TV series ‘Ballers’. The show starred Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the lead role and Washington was the part of the main cast. The actor was praised for his acting and that made him a star.
In September 2017, Washington was cast in the lead role of detective Ron Stallworth in Spike Lee's thriller ‘BlacKkKlansman’. The film turned out to be a huge success and made him earn his first Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild nominations. After seeing him in ‘BlacKkKlansman’, filmmaker Christopher Nolan hand-picked him to play the lead role in ‘Tenet’. The movie did amazing at the box office and was a critical success as well, making Washington a household name.

Alicia Vikander as April
Alicia Amanda Vikander is a Swedish actress who doesn’t need any kind of introduction. Born and raised in Gothenburg, Sweden, Vikander began acting at the tender age of 7 in minor stage productions at the Gothenburg opera house and trained as a ballet dancer at the Royal Swedish Ballet School in Stockholm.
Professionally, she started her career by making an appearance in various short films and television roles in her native Sweden. She received a lot of critical acclaim for her debut Swedish feature film ‘Pure’ and won the Rising Star Award in 2010 at the Stockholm International Film Festival. Additionally, she also won the prestigious Guldbagge Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
In 2014, she gained wider prominence with the sci-fi thriller ‘Ex Machina’. However, her moment of glory came in 2015 when she starred in the movie ‘The Danish Girl’ alongside Eddie Redmayne. The movie was nominated for four Oscars and Vikander emerged victorious in the Best Supporting Actress category. She also won the Screen Actors Guild award and Critics’ Choice Award in the same category.
The actress can currently be seen in the movie ‘The Green Knight’ along with Dev Patel and Joel Edgerton.
Vicky Krieps as Lena
The actress from Luxembourg started her acting career at a very young age and began performing in theatre productions when she was in her teens. Professionally, Krieps played numerous roles in Luxembourg productions and foreign co-productions before taking on increasingly important roles in foreign projects.
Her first leading English role came in 2017 with ‘Phantom Thread’. The project was the last movie of Daniel Day Lewis’s acting career as he took retirement after the film got released. The film received acclaim for its acting, screenplay, direction, musical score, costume design, and production values. Krieps was praised specifically for her acting and was named the talent to watch out for by numerous critics.
The actress can currently be seen in M Night Shyamalan’s later movie ‘Old’.
Boyd Holbrook as Tynan
Holbrook’s acting journey is nothing short of a fairytale. He was working as a carpenter when he was discovered and was given a modeling contract by Elite Models in 2001. Holbrook gained instant fame in the modeling world and worked for renowned designers and labels like Gucci, Jean Paul Gaultier, Versace, Hugo Boss, Bill Blass, Calvin Klein, Moschino, Marc Jacobs, and DSquared.
His first acting role came in the 2008 movie ‘Milk’ alongside Sean Penn and Josh Brolin. He also made a cameo appearance in ‘Out of the Furnace’ which also starred Christian Bale, Casey Affleck, Woody Harrelson, and Zoe Saldana in pivotal roles. However, he gained wider prominence after playing the negative role in the superhero movie ‘Logan’.
Meanwhile, on the TV front, he was the main cast member in Season 1 and 2 of ‘Narcos’. He will be next seen in DC’s ‘The Sandman’.
